Over a number of years my fear of the dentists has grown to enormous proportions. This is due to the fact that I had received some very painful and nasty experience in a dentist chair, to the point where I would no longer go to a dentist unless was in extreme pain and could no longer function.
Over the 15+ years, I had been promised so much by different dentist, all of whom failed miserably and as a result left me with a mixture of dental work (caps/crowns/bridges) of varying shades.
So for years I survived on easy to eat foods. Smiling was only ever done with my hand over my mouth or with my head down. Even talking was always kept to a minimum as I didn't want anyone to focus on my mouth. The idea of talking in a crowd and having several people look at me and maybe spot the untidiness of teeth was unbearable, so I just didn't put myself in that situation.
After getting to the point where I could scarcely eat anything apart from jacket potatoes and losing so much weight, I decided that I had to have implants done and I was hoping it wasn't too late but that really was my only choice or I would be facing dentures at the age of 46.
I did my research over a long period of time and the Perfect Smile just seemed to stand head and shoulders above all other dental practices. The reviews from nervous patients (like myself) was amazing and I believed it.
So, nervously I went to Hertford and the welcome I received was like no other, if felt like I had know everyone for years. The all knew my name, there was genuine intereset in my wellbeing and I immediately felt completely at ease, that made a huge difference as fear tends to make me walk away.
Anyway, I met Louise, she was so understanding and so knowledgeable. She answered all my questions with ease and accuracy and didn't promise me anything that she didn't believe the Perfect Smile could deliver. I finally met Rahul, he really relaxed me and that is not easy for a dentist to do with me. He instantly let me know that he could make a huge difference to my mouth and that he was in no doubt that I would leave there a happy person - I was hopefully but at the same time I didn't want to get my hopes up.
Well all I can say is "wow!, I am absolutely stunned, astounded, and extremely happy" at the end result. It should not have been possible, considering what Rahul had to work with (pretty much an empty mouth with receding gums and bone) but yet he managed to give me a full and function set of stunning natural looking teeth, the likes of which I could only dream about.
I want to thank every member of staff at the Perfect Smile Studio, you have all been so good to me in so many ways and for that I will never forget you. Rahul, you are a magician and an artist, you do the impossible.
I am still learning to smile without covering my mouth, that will take time as i have been hiding my mouth for over 15 years, but I am getting there.
The Perfect Smile has given me back my confidence, my life, my friends and I am finally enjoying all types of food, it's been a long time since I have been able to say any of that. - thank you from the bottom of my heart xxx, read more
