Every time you go to Cotteridge you notice another Sohpie's outlet. There are now three, and this…read moreis the one dedicated to pizzas. There is a small seating area outside, but you'll be sitting in British weather and on a traffic island next to the busy Pershore Road, so it's neither Rome nor romantic. That said, it's nice they've made an effort for their punters. Their pizza is pretty good, not amazing, but pretty good and comes at a reasonable price. It's entirely possible that the three Sophie's outlets currently dotted either side of the traffic island in Cotteridge are connected by a series of underground tunnels, and that those in charge are secretly colonising the hub of B30 by stealth, taking over the shop units from a subterranean operations base. At some point Cotteridge will be renamed Sophietown.

The restaurant itself isn't classy and I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but if you find yourself in Cotteridge wanting pizza, it's decent enough. Like a lot of pizza delivery places, the menu lists pizzas for a ridiculous price, but offers 2-for-1, so you end up paying more like £10 than the listed £20 for a large pizza. My one criticism is that the online ordering system and website are atrocious - give them a call instead and you can't go wrong.

As a blogger committed to telling the truth and giving a fair appraisal of any buisness I write…read moreabout, I feel that first I much tell you the the name of "Deluxe Pizza" is inaccurate - there is nothing at all that is "deluxe" about "Deluxe Pizza"( one look at the accompanying photo should of told you that), though maybe they felt that "Budget Pizza" would not have been such an appealing name. Yes, it sells cheap fast food - fish and chips, kebabs and burgers, like the sign says. I can assure you this food is edible and even tastes roughly as it's supposed to as I have eaten there before. However, I'd imagine some customers would be put off by the shops'murky looking interior. Im not saying the shop itself is unclean, I'm just saying that it would probably look a lot cleaner if there was more light in the place and a quick lick of paint. I'm sorry to give you such a negative review guys as you seem like nice people, but really, a little more effort and imagination might do your buisness a lot of good.

Inside it is a bit grubby and thankfully I had had a drink, so I was not too bothered, but it would have bothered me if I was popping in to get lunch or dinner. A food place should always be immaculate in my opinion. I ordered a standard cheese pizza, nothing too fancy and I am relieved that I did not have anything too fancy to be honest. I did not have to wait too long and the staff were alright and the prices were cheap. The pizza was ok, a bit greasy and it was what I wanted, but I do not think I will be going back soon.

I like this place because it closes in the middle of the day! They open 12-2pm to cater for the lunchtime crowd, and then shut down until early evening. I always think that this pretty much guarantees freshly cooked food. Too often you visit a chip shop and view tired, dried up looking food that has clearly spent most of the day under the bright lights of the hot plate. Not so here. The chips and fish are tasty and the prices are pretty much what you'd expect from a chippy. The staff are also very friendly here, which tips the scales for me over Sophies.

Sophies troops have The Cod Pot surrounded but it is standing it's ground and doing it well! The food is really fresh, which is an absolute bonus with chip shops today, I had not considered that the decline in freshness over recent years might be because of chip shops being open all day until I read one of the other reviews (thanks Craig H!) but that makes total sense now... The Cod Pot gives you that feeling of fish n' chips for tea like the good old days! Really good quality food, reasonable prices, really nice friendly staff, Definitely a number 1 choice for chips in Cotteridge.

It has a…read morefairly large frontage for what is predominantly a take away buisness, making the place often look empty as much of their buisness seems to come from deliveries. They serve a fairly traditional range of pizzas in different sizes with the usual range of topping such as ham or vegetables - me, I usually go for spicy vegetarian in a situation like this. I've been to San Marino Pizza a few times and will probably go again, it's just that the experience is so unremarkable in almost every sense. The service is good enough, the prices are neither cheap nor expensive and the food tastes the same as it would in a thousand other generic fast food shops. The kind of place people choose out of convenience rather than for love of it's products. First, critically, is the pizza, which San Marino do very well, their margherita is a good, no-nonsense, tasty pizza and I enjoyed the salt and grease treat very much. Second, is the price, and San Marino's is a little steep for what you get. I can make a whole family meal of pizzas at home for 8 or 9 quid (the cost of the 12 inch pizza that I had). But I suppose you should expect to pay more for take-out pizzas. I must confess it left me a little disappointed and still hungry after spending almost 10 pounds on a single pizza. Good quality pizza, although the quality and quantity doesn't quite trump the cost. You can get better and larger amounts of pizza for less money. Or you could have supreme pizzas for a few hundred pennies if you were willing to learn to cook - or pop over to your mom's with the ingredients.
