Instead, they use long thin plastic and insert the entire film roll in there (see photos for example). I find this slightly inconvenient, as I will have to cut the film myself and put them in my own film sleeves. I can also tell that the scans are sloppily done. A lot of the scans are not positioned correctly, and I can often see the edges of other photos in the scans (see photos for example).

But anyway, someone had jammed a memory card into the Nikon SLR and broke it. No amount of YouTubing could fix it. I was told about Authorized Photo Service in Morton Grove. It is pricey to fix, but this location is local, instead of sending it to a faraway place. I picked it up after a few weeks and it was clean, nicely packed. Hopefully magical photos will develop (do you see what I did there?)

Prior to choosing Keren Sarai photography, my husband and I met with 5 other photographers. I found…read moreKeren and the other photographers through the recommendation of friends, and by searching for Chicago engagement pictures and following links back to the photographer's site. We both agreed that Keren was the best value- $3500 for 8 hours of coverage with a second photographer, a one hour engagement session, copies of all the high resolution images with printing rights, and a 10x10 heirloom album. Additionally, she made us feel very comfortable, was incredibly thoughtful, and we loved her work. When we first met with her, she was incredibly professional- she had a personalized bridal box us with different pamphlets detailing her prices, as well as tips for good engagement pictures and a list of her recommended vendors. Keren goes above and beyond to care for her brides and even has a private facebook group for her bridal clients so we can source suggestions and advice from each other. After we booked her for the wedding, she sent us a small token of appreciation, which I thought was so sweet! At both the engagement session and the day of the wedding, Keren was very organized and gave good directions on how to pose without being overbearing or demanding. This was particularly useful when we took several formal family portraits with over 20 people. She was patient and creative, and open to shooting a few favorite poses I had found on Pinterest. Throughout the ceremony and reception, she and her second shooter were both respectful and unobtrusive. I think the only time I noticed them was during the first dance, yet they managed to capture everything!! It was really nice to be entirely focused on the moment and not distracted by anything else, even when the entire moment is captured on film. One thing that impressed me most about Keren is how detail oriented she is. Prior to the wedding day, she had us fill out a comprehensive 4 page questionnaire that helped me to think through the whole schedule and logistics, as well as confirm all shots we wanted (and family members to be in each shot). She coordinated with the DJ to make sure everything like the first dance and garter toss happened on time and that they didn't miss anything. Keren's second shooter is usually a woman named Erica, who also happens to be one of her close friends. Between the two of them there is a natural chemistry and flow to their process that helped the entire day go smoothly. They were adept at dividing and conquering, while also capturing moments from both perspectives. They were both a pleasure to work with and I was so happy we chose KSP!
