Great experience! I…read moregot a speeding ticket going 15 over in Wake County. After receiving several letters from lawyers, I decided to call a few and see what my options were and which prices were the best. Of the maybe 4-5 places I called, this firm was the most friendly and personable. Definitely plus that they also had the cheapest price. A couple days after gathering quotes I decided that I would go with Cotten Law Firm. I was able to go online and look up my case number and pay my fees all at once. Once I paid and electronically signed to allow Mr. Cotten to represent me, I was e-mailed a case number for the firm and a receipt. The day before my court date I received an e-mail and phone call from the firm to get more of my personal information to pull my driving record. That was also a pleasant and friendly interaction as well. I was told that Mr. Cotten would e-mail me the results the next day after going to court on my behalf. Around 1:30 on the day of my court date I received an e-mail from Mr. Cotten himself with the results. My ticket was reduced to an "Improper Equipment" charge! My insurance won't be affected and neither will my driving record. Such a relief! Since I paid upfront he also handled the court costs and fines as well. I didn't have to go to court or even to the office at all. There's also an option to pay for his services upfront and then you can handle your court costs within 30 or so days of your court date if you can't afford it all at once, which is great. I would highly recommend this firm and will keep the information in case I need their services in the future. Although I hope I never will again...

Funny that the day my name legally changed I sent him the paperwork and then 2 days later (dragging our feet?) he sent the updated paperwork, I signed, had notarized and sent back the next day. But yes, I was dragging my feet. I'd say Matt was just as bad as the ex. If you want to pay for your ex to have a second lawyer, Matt's your guy. Otherwise, find someone who will represent YOU and will fight for YOU. After all I am the one paying the bill. Even though he constantly threw the cost at me. I never complained about the cost and paid every bill as soon as the link was sent. When I told him he was a horrible lawyer, he responded I was difficult to deal with. Interesting.

He then sends me an email that I have attached below. So I paid online the day he got this reduced. But by paying the day of I am admitting that I am guilty. He claims that he told me not to pay in the email and that I must wait a week. But he didn't. You can decide for yourself in the attached email. He could've gave me a quick 30 second call. But no he just sent me an email that wasn't specific. Lawyers should be very specific. It's a criteria of their job. No big deal. People make mistakes but instead of being a good person and doing the right thing he told me he wanted to charge me $250 additional to fix a problem that was his fault. Stay away from this guy.
