They took advantage of the fact that this was my first time dealing with an estate. But they literally did absolutely nothing for me. All they did was make a couple of phone calls, file some paperwork. I MEAN EVERYTHING THAT THEY DID I COULD OF DID ON MY OWN. And they knew they won't doing nothing for me. But still racked up over 15k in charges for absolutely nothing. It was all during a pandemic so in my eyes they was trying to get all the money they could get out of me. They kepted believing wateva my father's wife was telling them instead of listening to their client. They just don't get you the best outcome. And to me they acted like this was their first rodeo. She sold all of my fathers personal items and that was NEVER brought up in court. Literally all I was asking for was my fathers grill that he made with his bare hands. The owner, Jim Hart, is all about marketing his business with internet blogs and mass emails. He effectively does so and exudes a sense of great knowledge and skills. But once he collects the retainer fee and the client signs on, he produces no results and drags on the process month after month. Communications to him were largely ignored but he's very quick to collect payments. Often, he charges the client all kinds of nonsense administrative fees. If these fees were ever questioned, then he'll charge additional fees for his response. The disruptive cycle drags on while very little attention is devoted to the actual case. It's this type of irresponsible and selfish practice that gives many lawyers a bad name.

To compound my predicament, after firing my seemingly deficient council, I answered the plaintiff's complaint and levied a counterclaim acting as a pro-se defendant for both my person and my LLC which was also named in said suit. With the plaintiff's lawyer fighting for a default judgment against my LLC (who I can not legally represent pro se), I enlisted Joe Howell who was highly recommended to me by a fellow machine shop owner I cold called out of a Yellow pages listing. That the individual thought enough of Joe to return my voice mail days later to vouch for Joe's character says a lot in my book. With Joe firmly in my corner, an arduous and drawn out fight ensued that ultimately culminated in the delusion plaintiff PAYING ME a low five figure sum to settle the matter.
