**Great Food, But Portions Have Shrunk**…read more My girlfriend and I love Rekado. We first ate here last year and were amazed by their kare-kare and lechon kawali. Fast forward to this year, I brought my girlfriend and my brother to eat again. While the food was still delicious, the portions were significantly smaller--about 50% less. I posted a comparison of the kare-kare and lechon kawali dishes: on the left is April 2023, and on the right is May 2024. You can see that the portions have literally halved or more. Additionally, this time, the kare-kare had only one piece with actual meat, and it was very little. When we visited, there was an event, and we asked the server how long it would take for the food. The estimate was 15-20 minutes, but the food arrived in 25-30 minutes. It would have been fine if our expectations had been set correctly from the start, so we could have ordered appetizers since we were already hungry. Overall, the food is still delicious, but please improve the portion sizes.

Price range would be 140-350. There are some dishes for sharing less than 350 and it's really good for like 3-4 people! We ordered their Cheesy Sizzling Sisig on a skillet and it was huge!! It was worth 275 and I shared the bill with my friend so you can say we pretty much had a cheap, hearty meal that tasted really great! I also ordered their Old School Vanilla shake for 180 (? I think I'm not so sure anymore) and it was also really great! I experienced the Crunchy crackling skin and tender meat dipped in bagoong. Despite a lot of parking spots available, people just love going back to this place (no matter what season), so you have to come early to park outside the restaurant itself. They have extra space for parking further down a tight alley but it's up to you if you want to risk walking down from there to the restaurant at night. Price wise - when the food is good, it's worth it. When it's not, it's like paying a lot for crap basically.
