They have seating for less than 20 diners, with most of their business being takeout and catering. Looking past the service counter reveals a huge kitchen plus another area where they smoke the foods. The back of house space looks to be easily four to five times large than the front of house. What makes this place different from most Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants is their claim to offer healthier choices. To support this claim, they make all their own seasonings, with a lower salt content and all natural ingredients. Their marinades are bottled and available for purchase at the counter. They use chickens that are grain fed and locally grown. Their daily menu offers Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, BBQ Chicken, Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken, and Fish. The fish has to be ordered two hours in advance. Weekly specials include a different soup every day, Curry Goat on Wednesdays, Cow Foot on Thursdays, and Oxtail on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays only. My companion and I ordered small plates of Jerk Pork, Oxtail, and Stew Chicken in order to sample a few dishes. They were all served with Rice & Peas and a Veggie Medley (steamed). Our plates arrived with generous portions of rice & peas and veggies and a decent amount of proteins (for small orders). The jerk pork looked good, with a nice smoke ring around the edges. It tasted okay but it was dry and the seasoning hadn't penetrated the meat as much as the smoke. They probably used a leaner, "healthier" cut of meat instead of a more marbled (fattier) cut. Some gravy would have probably improved this dish (for me). The stew chicken, with an ample amount of gravy, was also okay and appeared to be all skinless dark meat. The oxtail was our favourite dish. It was the most flavourful of the three and tender enough to come off the bone easily. Overall, I admire their efforts to offer healthier cooking but I would have to describe the taste as average. I've had better and I've had worse but I don't know if I've had healthier (from a Caribbean restaurant). The service was friendly.

Rice and beans solid and not buried in sauce. I very much welcome the side of vegetables (it's in line with their more nutritious take on Jamaican cookin'). Tried this place on a whim, just had a craving for jerk chicken and didn't want to drive for it, this was the first thing that popped up, and I remember seeing this from driving by it "all the time" The first time I had this ordered to my place, the food's scent absolutely permeated once we got the items out of the bag, the flavors were even better. this food brought me back to my childhood and all of the summer bbq's growing up with friends from multiple islands. One time I came in here in person, to grab some food, and the service was top notch, but ordering in person had a bit more options which lead to me looking like an idiot ordering the same thing I did through skip. The hot sauce is absolutely perfect as well, please bottle this and sell it Seperately. There's next to no sitting area here, and with this tight plaza of 11 business' you would be best to grab the food and go. I have no photos, even though I say the phone eats first, once the smell hits my nose, it's game over. no photos, no witness'(lol) Absolutely one of my favorite spots now for food, slowly climbing into my personal top 10 in Toronto, please don't change anything with the food, everything is perfect.

Food: Aloo pie with goat. The aloo pie dough is kind of like a dessert bread/timbit but lighter.the sweetness is also light. The curry goat has good flavor and a very nice spicy kick. The meat wasn't tough but not super tender - to me it's still good because goat is a naturally tough meat. Had 2 giant chunks of goat. Doubles with shrimp - this is a messy dish so beware! The shrimp were huge - 2 pieces and cooked well, good flavor. The doubles were soft and fluffy, the chickpeas and sauce were bright with parsley flavor. Mac and cheese - it's literally a giant block of mixed pasta and cheese with more cheese on top crusted. It's why you expect and it's great. It does become monotonous after a while but cmon, it's Mac and cheese - what did you expect? Butter chicken roti - this thing is massive. The chicken inside is decently tender, the sauce is on the sweet side - wish it was a bit less sweet, more buttery? Although that may just be personal taste. I liked it with the pea flour to give it a bit of a different contrast. Also, can get very messy to eat so best to take this one slowly. Price: I think the prices are pretty fair for what you get especially given the huge portions and quality.

The curry goat is decent…read more We ordered curry goat (came with curry aloo, which was one of the more interesting aloos out in the takeout landscape I've ever had - they had thyme in it), a shrimp doubles, 2-4pk of currents rolls, and a pone. The doubles was eh, it's a shame that huge-big shrimps were rubbery and were leached of all their natural delish flavour. I know curry shrimp is a challenge for most to cook well (without "long-water": for those who know, know). The Pone, was mostly coconutty in flavour, next to the pumpkin in domination. They made it with oil, likely, not with butter, therefore a very dry. And zero spice dimensions. Though, a raisin or two were present. [Acr on Ellesmere/Midland has better, amaaaazing pone with crispy edges and sweeter] There are some hits and misses. But if you don't have a Trini Mom/excellent cook available or just want the convenience of picking up some cuisine that is highly underrated, and highly labour intensive. Let someone else do the work. And support a decent local resto.

That, or the AC wasn't strong enough, granted it was on a very hot day. We ate our meal and hurried out cuz it just got too hot to stay in there. I will say the food was not bad. It was super filling. Their meal is not exactly something I'd crave for again, but if you're hungry and want jerk chicken, it'll do the job. It is also a lot off food on a plate, so that's a win!

However, my last visit [Friday before Caribana] was very very disappointing - prices had increased again but food orders were in much smaller portions - see photos below [whole plain paratha, regular size, doubles, with scarcely any channa-took photos of only 3 of the 5 + 1 special [all six were the same, no chutneys, inside as requested]. I did not take a photo of the plain regular sized dhalpuri, I purchased, which was the same size as the paratha; Chutneys and hot sauce were on the side-smelled OK but was totally lacking in flavour and watered down, especially the shado beni. Not to mention the sparkling grapefruit ting! The chicken was so flavorful and spicy that it was sliding off the bone. Other selections were barbecue chicken, jerk chicken, oxtail, and more! The beef patty I had when I returned a second time during my stay was excellent; it was flavorful and flakey. For the price, the portions are decent, and I had a ton of leftovers!
