It is a somewhat older building. But wasps are a problem. But otherwise a lovely location and a great layout.

Unfortunately, I've had issues with some leaks and know of a few people who have had their apartments flooded. Fairly certain a package of mine went missing (from Amazon, says delivered online), and I've had trouble with people parking in the wrong spots earlier this year. Luckily, management and maintenance were pretty quick and helpful to fix issues which is great!

My son has lived at Fuse for the last 3 years - each year hoping they would improve because the location is great. Not to be. Main issues are lack of accountability from the GM and rest of staff has this "not my problem, nothing I can do attitude". They don't respond to maintenance requests, blame you for losing packages, and IF you get a live person you have to deal with them blaming you for the situation/issue - completely unprofessional and awful to work with. Cleanliness is horrible (constant garbage piled up on the floors outside the garbage shoots), poor security, elevators frequently down and mind blowingly slow, months of no hot water and avoidance of the issue until university got involved and students filed a lawsuit. Yes, they are under new management this year (2025-2026 school year) which is wonderful because they fixed the hot water issue but ALL the core issues remain. AVOID this dump.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!…read more If you're considering living at Verve Apartments, managed by Cardinal Group Management, let me save you the trouble: DON'T. My daughter's experience as a tenant there was nothing short of a nightmare due to Verve's negligence, discriminatory practices, and retaliatory actions. Here's what happened: Ignored Complaints About Unsafe Living Conditions: My daughter's roommate had her boyfriend effectively living in the apartment, violating the lease and making the living situation uncomfortable. Despite multiple complaints to Verve Management, they did absolutely nothing to address this issue. False Accusations Taken at Face Value: After a dispute over shared resources, her roommate filed a false police report claiming my daughter had poisoned her milk. The milk in question had been locked in a private refrigerator in my daughter's room for nearly a month before the alleged incident! Even after the District Attorney cleared my daughter of all charges, Verve continued to rely on the roommate's unverified claims. Retaliatory Eviction Threats: Verve issued an eviction notice based on the false allegations, without conducting a proper investigation or allowing my daughter to defend herself. They acted as judge, jury, and executioner, treating her as guilty until proven innocent. Financial and Emotional Damages: Verve's mishandling of the situation forced my daughter to vacate prematurely, leading to: - Storage fees for months of May, June, July, and part of August. - continued liability for lease payment through July despite vacating the first week of May due to Verve's unwillingness to mitigate continued threats from the old Roomate and threats of additional relations. - The stress and cost of moving twice due to their failure to create a safe living environment. Discriminatory Practices: While Verve was quick to act on false accusations against my daughter, they ignored repeated lease violations by her roommate and even relocated the roommate to another unit after the situation escalated. The new roommate also experienced similar issues and reported them, but Verve again took no meaningful action. Lack of Accountability: Verve only acknowledged their error months later, in February, after I spent a month providing evidence to prove my daughter's innocence. This ordeal wasted countless hours of my time and caused significant emotional distress for my daughter. Final Thoughts: Verve Apartments is poorly managed, unresponsive to tenant concerns, and quick to retaliate in unfair and discriminatory ways. If you value your time, money, and mental health, look elsewhere. There are plenty of other student housing options that won't treat their tenants like this. If you are a tenant who has experienced similar issues, the following remedies for relief can be pursued. If this applies to you, please send me a message--I am interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. 1. West Lafayette Human Relations Commission 2. Tippecanoe County Human Relations Commission 3. Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) 4. HUD Indianapolis Field Office 5. Indiana Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division 6. U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 7. Small Claims or Civil Court If you've been affected by discriminatory practices, retaliatory actions, or landlord negligence, please reach out. Together, we can take action.

The rent is very high; in my opinion management is charging a high premium for their product. What bothers me is that they lured him in with a 9-month lease, which is very nice for a college student whose home base is not in the Lafayette area. But now that he is there, and needs a place to live next year, they have withdrawn the 9-month lease option. To make matters worse, they do not allow subletting. Instead they do a reletting which transfers the lease to the temporary resident, and then transfers it back to my son. And on top of that, they charge him a fee for that. So, they are already charging outrageously high rent and then they get him over a barrel with a 12-month lease and make it difficult to sublet. I give it two stars because the apartment is nice, the internet speeds are really good, and it's close to campus. If you don't mind overpaying, you'll probably like it at Chauncey.

While the apartment has a…read moreconvenient location (above Fiesta and close to campus) there is not much else it has to offer. I live in the old phase and let me tell you that you can tell it is old. In addition to it being dated, maintenance is also very invasive coming in weekly to do "inspections". I have never lived in a place that needed to do so many inspections a month. Currently we are dealing with being asked to essentially move out of our apartments for the entire day so they can put new flooring in. We were asked to remove all furniture from floors, unplug and store all electronics as well as board our pets which we already pay an extra fee for. When expressing how unreasonable this ask is, especially with it being the middle of the semester they are unwilling to work with tenants. My roommate and I have emailed many times expressing our frustration and have been meet back with lackluster emails offering no help. This apartment is also extremely loud. There are frequently multiple garbage pickups early in the morning all throughout the week and weekend, the ceilings are paper thin meaning that you can hear everything going on above you...
