Excellent small cafe serving imaginative food. Busy, with tightly packed tables, and unfortunately no pre-booking. A blackboard menu of dishes such as butterbean and butternut squash salad in sweet chill sauce, or 'green fritters' made with potato and spinach. Also on the day we were there was fish provencal. Lovely breads, including a gluten free one with poppyseeds. A great range of home made cakes, including gluten free option. Drinks include home made lemon and ginger cordial. Puddings included two different pavlovas, and chocolate, beetroot and chilli cake. They also do a wide range of enormous meringues to take away. A recent lunch for five of us was £10 a head. Outside seating in good weather, and parking for about six cars. If you get a chance, go. Afterwards, look in at the Cowhouse Gallery next door. read more
