Came in for an alignment and tires on Wednesday, got a text after closing saying service was complete. Vehicle ready. Show up to a less than friendly manager insisting the van isn't ready, bc they broke the abs wheel speed sensor, things happen. So initially he said he would have the part and pop it in later ( i too to mean that day now thurs) later in the evening I called the shop and the same manager said the part will be in Saturday. So Sat morning i called the shop and talked to the same manager whom seems more and more annoyed each time I check in. This time he tells me noon the auto parts store was delivering the part. At almost 2pm I went to the shop in person. It was busy, and it seemed the only people being helped were on the phone. I finally started to talk to the manager and the phone rang, he put his finger up and answered it. I waited then asked about the part. Then he talks me it's back ordered and he can't get it till Tuesday or Wednesday, problem is I'm on vacation and leaving the next morning. He says closest place that has the part is on Michigan. I found one in Miami too late to drive to get it and get it back. Now this manager starts venting to me that everything is going bad and the phones have been messed up ( ringing while I was there?). So after a few choice words I left and contacted corporate, these clowns had the same indifferent ass that got me into the situation call me to let me know the part would be there Sunday at 2:30pm ( overnight from Michigan ?) oh coarse that did nothing for me . Over the past year I have had my car worked on in no fewer than 5 states, some states multiple times (Don't judge me. I love my car and repairs and maint is cheaper than new). I was pulled over the night before my Pep Boys visit. No, I wasn't speeding. Ok, yes I was but that wasn't why I was pulled over. It seems one of my tail lights was out. The fine police office gave me a warning and not a ticket. Yeah Police Man!! And since I drove 1,100 miles only stopping for gas with a maint required light on I thought I would get it taken care of . I drove around and saw several places that did this sort of work. But there was something about Pep Boys that called to me. No, it wasn't one of those big flapping yellow things. It was the almost empty parking lot. I took my car in, explained my needs and within an hour and only $53 I had a new tail light, an oil change and some friendly banter. Used to take my car there until one time I went in to have two tires installed and guy lied for some reason and said they hadn't received my tires I had already paid for via amazon. Pep Boys (specifically this one in Cape Coral) helped save my vacation! On the way to Ft. Myers Beach, one of the 4 tires I'd purchased from Pep Boys in Cutler Bay experienced an internal belt separation...in the middle of the Everglades! After putting on a spare, I limped our SUV onward. Subsequently I called the Pep Boys in Ft. Myers, thinking surely I could get a warranty replacement. They said without an invoice number from Cutler Bay, they couldn't do anything. When I called the Cutler Bay store, NO ONE ANSWERED even though they were open (0 stars for them). When I called Ft. Myers back and said just get me the tire, they said they didn't have it anyway. Luckily, they referred me to the Cape Coral Pep Boys. Patrick (asst. mgr.?) was very helpful on the phone. He said to come on in, no appointment necessary, and the tire was in stock. Once there, they quickly got the new tire on, and the manager, JP, cut through all the red tape and B.S. and gave me a pro-rated discount based on tread wear. He also was able to suggest a good economy tire to replace my 16 year old spare. They had me in and out just under 90 minutes. JP and Patrick were very friendly, and even suggested a nearby restaurant for lunch! Soon, I was on my way back to the beach to continue my vacation. 5-star, highly recommend! read more

Ordered tires and was told to come in. My fiance and I were in the waiting room and saw that no one was working. Every time we looked back into where our truck was...nothing had been done. It took 4 hours to put on the new tires. The lady in the waiting room was there even longer than us for her brakes. A few days later we were driving and the tire was about to come off. 2 lugnuts were missing. Luckily my fiance knew to check the tires when our car was shaking uncontrollably. Went back to Pep Boys and they put the lugnuts on and he was told they probably didn't balance the tires..but then they didn't balance the tires for him. So our truck is still shaking. They found the problem, got me a ride home and back and were understanding when I had questions I have been weary of Pep Boys ever since 2 years ago in Austin, I brought my car to one. They worked on it for two hours, couldn't find a problem and the next day my car died. Like had to buy a new car died- they never put me in the system so no proof I was there I live in fort Myers but came to this location based on 5 star reviews vs 2 star reviews in FM. Tony, the store manager, was very kind. He explained to me the problem, how long It would take to fix and was understanding when I said I needed to call my dad. Most mechanics roll their eyes at that, but this was a $800 job. I needed a second opinion. They got me a ride home and back which I had never heard of. I called to get a check engine light "free" diagnostic and after describing the symptoms, Tony told me what he thought the issue was but, had me bring the car in. He was spot on! I can respectfully say they have very very polite employees working at this specific location. I went in specifically asking them to check my brakes ONLY at a certain time. They noted it would only take a few minutes. I ended up waiting there for about 45 minutes. But it makes sense why it took so long because they didn't just check my brakes like I specifically asked(being in a time crunch), they checked everywhere else underneath my car and then a handful of different places and tried to tell me that I needed over five different things changed on my car immediately. The manager then told me I would be looking at about $1500 worth of repairs. The manager also then stated that he felt uncomfortable letting me drive my car out of the shop just because of how bad my brakes were(you'd think he'd have given me an estimate THAT NIGHT so I could bring my car back the next few days to be fixed- I was ready). He said he will get an estimate together and reach out to me as soon as possible. I didn't hear back from him at all that day and the following day nothing from him either. So I ended up calling the location to see what was going on. They had no knowledge of my estimate and said that he would be in Friday morning today. So here's Friday, No call, no email with an estimate sent over still. And it's been two days now. But the good part is - I grabbed a second opinion from an honest dedicated certified mechanic that LAUGHED and said yeah, they were just pulling a a fast one on you for money since you're new to the and area. Brakes also only ended up at a cost of 1/3 of what Pep Boys was trying to charge me and that included installation and they came with warranties also, no cheap off brand parts. Seeing as how they don't reply back to you when they say they will, I doubt they even monitor this page either. Everything from Ford was screwed up and TJ and his crew helped me solve my issues and install airbags for a great price to boot. I took my car in because it seem like one of my belt was broken and one of my front tires, asked him to check it And tell me if it needed to be replaced or if you just need to be balanced either way just let me know, they balance the tire and said it had no problem. The didn't even test drive it. Wtf it was even worse after they balanced it. traveled to with someone I trusted the look at it two minutes replaced the tire , Fixed it, I felt like Pep Boys did nothing but rip me off and waste my time, first time with them, and I'll never go back. This place is a rip-off !! I took my car and because my brakes are whistling they told me that my front brakes needed to be replaced along with the rotors. When I told him I had just replace those rotors the last time I got the brakes changed and all he has to do was turn them.. he told me because the rotors were Rusty that it was going to mess his machine up so it's better to replace them. At this point I knew it was b******* I've had experience with brakes and knew that the rotors could still be used. I asked him for the price to see what he would say at this point .. and he told me it would be 378 plus tax for 2 new rotors and brakes. And that I would not find a better deal.. These guys are different than what you wxpect from machanics. Will let you know what needs to be fixed, what to start watching for in future needs, and never try to push unneeded work on you. Went in 1st time to have all 4 breaks done, let me know fronts had no need to be done only back. Oil change this time, tire rotation is included, break inspection shows fronts still have a lot left, let me know what recommended service was suggested but didn't give me the normal you need to do this now speech, gives me heads up for future so you can plan on service needed. Always seem to be looking out for me as a neighbor not looking to take advantage, whole different feeling than most mechanics. Will be going back from now on! read more

After looking at the brakes, it was determined that the cost would be less then expected originally. The car needed less work and the problem was really not much of a problem.
