ETA: When I tried to cancel my service, I was told by the owner that it was too late because it was done. See pictures for what "done" looks like. Yard ornaments were thrown in my driveway and flowers in the back trampled. DO NOT USE PEORIA LAWN.. I actually don't know what services they performed because they were supposed to be at my house between 9am and 1pm and did not show. I would have been fine if they needed to schedule me for later in the day, but there was no attempt to contact me during the day. As on 2:40, no one had been to my home and I requested a cancellation of services. Almost 40 minutes later, I was told they were on their way to my house. When I called, to find out what was going on, the owner told me that there was no way I should have gotten a time frame in the first place (what?), time frames aren't set in stone, they tried to call me from personal cell phones (with unrecognizable numbers and no messages left, while I was at work - oh, and this lack of communication was my fault because I didn't pick up my cell phone while at my job when I could not answer my cell phone and wouldn't have picked up a number that looked like spam anyway), and that when people have problems with them it's because they just decide they don't want to pay for service. At no point was any attempt made to even take responsibility for lack of communication. I had an argument over the phone with a fellow adult about responsibility where every response he had was an excuse or a slightly less childish version of "I know you are but what am I?" I won't be paying for this "service" and don't recommend anyone else use it either. God forbid you have any problems - they don't care. read more

This certainly may have been an isolated incident, however, I was displeased with my experience. I put in a request to have my personal residence and a rental property serviced for a Monday. I scheduled for a 10 am - 11 am Window and it's currently 11:55 am and they haven't shown up. I understand that maybe the worker was held up at another job, however, good customer service would be to notify the customer that you will not be able to make the scheduled window. again I'm not saying this is a bad company and I'm sure this may just be an unfortunate incident that doesn't characterize the normal practices of Peoria Lawn. *UPDATE* The owner gave me a call and it turned out this was an isolated incident. A truck broke down and there was a hiccup with the online scheduling. David was very apologetic and more than willing to rectify the situation. I gladly decided to continue my service with Peoria Lawn because of David's humility and servant-hood. I just watched a truck from Peoria Lawn plow my neighbor's drive. All the snow was plowed into my yard, the street, and onto the sidewalk that I spent a considerable amount of time clearing. I'm glad they finished the job they were sent to do. Unfortunately now I need to make another trip out to shovel the snow from my property again. read more

The crew that cuts lawns did a good job. Granted they missed an entire area of my yard for trimming this time. Came out the next day to remedy that = good service. The first job came with a whopping fee of $294 which is almost triple what I normally pay for lawn service. However, the previous company had serious issues with rain delays leading to 2 weeks between mowings, etc, so I was going to give this company the benefit of the doubt due to their google reviews. Shyyla in the front office stated the first job would be more expensive due to 1) almost 2 weeks since the last mowing, and 2) they are learning my yard. She said the base rate was $80 for a one acre lot + time over 30 minutes. AND THEY CHARGE BY THE MINUTE! She really could not estimate the amount it would routinely cost but said they do not nickel and dime customers. Regardless we paid our bill and thought the following week would be roughly less than half based upon our previous experience (paying just shy of $100/ week) and all the "extra attention" necessary the first time. Came the second week, Eva's crew is great. Did everything they were supposed to and was pleased. 5 days later I receive the invoice for $250. It also had a $35 charge for Spring clean -up which was NOT done = this had been cancelled prior and even STATES IT ON THIS INVOICE ABOVE THE $35 FEE!!! - There was no Spring Clean-up....my Nest camera footage proves this. I emailed them and said we need to discuss this because we will not be continued clients for 2.5x what we paid previously. I was told to call Dave the owner around noon to discuss. I called and as usual received their voicemail; no remedy. I emailed Shyyla back and said remove us from the schedule because we have not been able to remedy this and need to address this. I expected a return email from Dave but never received one. The following day is Thursday (my normal mowing day), and I just received a bill for $20 for a trip charge!!! I replied that I notified you 27 hrs ago to remove us from your mowing schedule, I was told 24 hrs is what Peoria Lawn wants (which corresponds to their website), and then they try to bill me!?!? Stay away because their billing practices are poor along with response to written communication; I don't have time to play phone tag all day. Read your email. Answer an email. Pretty simple. They should know approximately what a lawn of my size and caliber would cost based upon their expertise. If they told me $250-300 / week from the onset, I would have never wasted their time or mine. They are the professionals and should know better. Bottom line, if you don't mind paying outrageous fees and getting billed for services not performed, they do a good job. Update: In response to dubious and fallacious response from company: Beware...business claims I was quoted $504 for first service which is patently false. I never would agree to paying 5x what I normally pay. Instead I was quoted an hourly rate for Clean-up because they did not know the shape of my yard nor did they know how long it would take...could not even provide a ballpark estimate. Understandable...but don't lie about it. There was no savings because there was no quote. To all prospective clients...when you call Peoria Lawn, see if you are given a quote for lawn care or a base fee + minute rate; you won't get a fee for scope of service. Unless they change their billing practices, this alone will prove my point. read more

Peoria Lawn blew our neighbor's leaves all over our newly cleaned yard. When asked if they would clean it up, the owner said "those were already there." We had just had a different company remove all of our debris, and it looked fantastic. Now there's leaves everywhere and the company won't take accountability for it's actions. It's a small yard, the leaves are clearly only on one side of the yard (next to the yard they "cleaned up"). Instead of directing workers to remove all leaves, apparently it's protocol to make them the neighbor's problems. Very disappointed in a local company. Make sure you are ok with paying them and having your neighbors clean up after they leave when you're looking to hire. **Update** The owner, Dave, returned my call and again said it is not his problem. He told me to "get a DNA test on the leaves to see if they're from my tree", asked if I had video cameras so I could check them, and offered to pick them up for $125 per hour. Again I explained how the leaves are only in the spot where they were working, He claimed they were to wet to be blown into our yard. When I explained that my yard was clean this morning when I left for work, he claimed it was windy and leaves were falling from trees. It's clear he's arguing both sides to get out of cleaning up their mess. As other reviewers have said, they are incredibly unprofessional. I've had landscaping companies remove entire trees without leaving a branch behind. These guys cant pick up leaves without leaving a mess for the neighbor. I truly thought this was an honest mistake and when the owner was notified he would take responsibility. Instead he claims its our fault leaves suddenly appeared the day he worked. read more

Dave and his team are great! We took advantage of the discounted 1st time customer discount and we were very impressed! They are dependable and do a great job! I have used a few other local companies/people in the past and they do not compare to the quality of Peoria Lawn. My neighbors were so impressed that they too are now Peoria Lawn customers! I initially called to use this company in 2017 because of the great reviews but I was definitely deceived. Multiple times I had to call and remind Dave to come to mow my lawn and there were many times where he just responded that he didn't have the man power to do it, which I could understand but I also don't think he should have continued to take on new clients. I eventually cancelled my services after 2 mows but was never billed. I thought maybe it was because I had such a terrible experience but then, a YEAR later I received a bill for the service. Really? I still cut the man a check but I was HIGHLY disappointed in his service and would NEVER recommend using. read more

I wouldn't recommend Peoria lawn to anyone. They are very unprofessional. I came home from taking my children to the dentist and he was mowing into my Windows. The man mowing was Anthony. I tried to explain to him what he was doing wrong. He called me names and didn't care about what he was doing wrong. I contacted his boss and he didn't seem to care either. They wasted 30$ worth of food and broke a window. They didn't pick anything up in the yard just mowed over top all the garbage and glass. I would've forgotten about the food and blowing the trimmings down my steps and in the Windows but couldn't over look the name calling and overall rudeness of the employees. read more
