My quarterly expenses were less than $500. He had Quickbooks where I could take a usb drive and download an accountants copy. This company didn't have Quickbooks and said I had to print everything and send it to him. I faxed it several times and they said they never received it. I tried emailing it... we never got it. I mailed it and they said they never got it. I had to hand deliver it and they sent me a bill for $5000 dollars! They did nothing but make this ridiculously hard! 4 years later me is still sending me a bill. He's a crook! Stay away. If I could give a negative star I would.

I originally had thought before I started working with BFS that they only did bookkeeping for small businesses and things. They actually do stuff like offer in compromises (good for me if/when I end up owing backtaxes and don't want to pay the full amount), installment agreements and those kind of IRS issues. Where it's most interesting for me is their ability to craft excellent business plans for start-ups and non-profits. Definitely useful if you want to get some investors or certifications! Thanks!

This year I paid the 50% retainer in November, got nothing other than a receipt by email. I kept waiting for some sort of communication about uploading or drop off. So, I finally dropped my mom's tax info off on April 6, and.....nothing. I have no idea whether my mom's returns were filed. I tried requesting a password for what I assumed was an upload site or client portal and it was never sent to me, not in my spam or clutter folders. Their voicemail seems to be broken- long dead spots and when I try to leave a voicemail it returns a message that the person at that extension...then cuts out. I stopped by today (April 15) and surprise, they closed at 11 and won't reopen until the 20th. Hope my mom's taxes returns were filed, but even if they were, I'm using another firm next year, the communication from this one is abysmal.
