The bread and olives are complimentary and delicious. I ordered a salad which was wonderful. My mussels came and the sauce, OMG!!!!, so so good. So good for sopping with the extra bread. I ate all of the mussels and I was by myself. Then, my main course came. My Salmon was cooked perfectly. I would go back and have the exact same thing. It was that good. It seems simple but restaurants do get it wrong from time to time. Also, the service was superb. Two young ladies seem to run both inside and outside. Prompt and attentive service. Highly recommend this place. I'll be in Saarbrücken again on Saturday and I'm trying to convince myself to try a new place, but I'm probably just going to go back to La Bastille.

They are a small place but don't let that fool you as the food is wonderful!! My children love the kids pasta and I always get the pizza which is freshly made everytime! The kids pizza is also a great size!! They also do take away which is great for party's at home! They waitress speaks wonderful English so for all the those who lack some German (as I do) it's great knowing there is someone there that understands you! Extremely friendly and simply awesome food!!
