While eating this we could already tell this place was a great choice. Fish of the day - talk about the waiter coming up with a plate full of maybe 3 fresh fish caught that day and asking which one you want. Not really knowing the local fish, we went with his recommendation of the San Pietro baked with potato. If that already wasn't great service, he then brought the fish after it was cooked and filleted and de-boned it in front of us. With all this bragging I've done about service - yes, the fish was wonderful as well. This is a great little spot and the seafood was fresh. Definitely a must try if you're in the neighborhood.

But the taste....we were unimpressed with the palate pleasing part. We're always a bit hesitant to dine at Michelin-rated restaurants because in our experience, it's always either a major hit or miss - nothing in between. And I don't know if it's because there's a pre-conceived expectation going in when the restaurant has been rated that it's easier to be disappointed than wowed. Our definition of great dining may be different from others but for us it's simple: It looks beautiful. But it tastes even better! Meo Modo definitely achieved the former but thoroughly lacked on the latter.
