We've had such a wonderful experience at Centre Square Montessori! One of the things I appreciated…read moremost was the small class size, which allowed for incredible individual attention. The teachers truly got to know my daughter -- her strengths, interests, and how she learns best -- and that made all the difference. Everyday was a good day here! Because of the Montessori approach, she was able to move ahead in certain subjects at her own pace, which kept her challenged and excited to learn. The environment is calm, nurturing, and thoughtfully designed to foster independence and confidence. Another thing we absolutely loved was how culturally diverse the school is. It's a beautiful community where children and families from many backgrounds come together. One of the highlights each year is the cultural fair, where families share traditional dishes and the kids get to celebrate and learn about different cultures. It's always such a joyful and meaningful event -- something both the children and parents really look forward to. We always felt like part of a close-knit, welcoming community, and I'm so grateful for the care, dedication, and inclusivity of the staff. I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a place where their child will be truly seen, supported, and celebrated.

My experience as a mother at The Learning Experience in Audubon has been incredibly offensive and…read morenegative. The owners of this location, Allison and Annie, have treated my 4-year-old daughter and I with such hatred. After months of harassment and name-calling, the two women proceeded to forcibly remove my daughter from this school without cause or reason. As a mother and an educator I do not recommend this school for your precious children. On one occasion, I witnessed Allison become very angry with my sad child as I left for work. She proceeded to grab my daughter's arm and scream "No!" As you can imagine, this broke my heart. On another occasion, Annie left a voicemail on my phone labeling my daughter as a "bully" because she had a difficult time sharing crayons, as coloring is her favorite activity. My father (also an educator) and I immediately arrived at the school to express our concerns. Allison and Annie were argumentative and continued to name-call without remorse. In addition to these terrible circumstances, this school has closed several times due to rising Covid cases within the classroom. The school does not enforce mask-wearing in young children. They have admitted that my daughter is "great" at wearing a mask but other children are not. When inquiring further information about how I can protect my child, Allison left me an angry voicemail demanding that we meet. She proceeded to send an email that stated: "After much consideration we unfortunately have made the decision to terminate this relationship effective immediately. We will mail your daughter's things to your home." Sadly, we are not the only family who has experienced such hatred from Allison and Annie. Many families of whom we are in close connection to also admitted how terrible the treatment is. Please do not send your children to this school. These two women appear to be kind with a smile, however, they are extremely mean-spirited and harass parents, especially hard-working mothers. I have made several attempts to contact the corporate offices, as well as the general manager, Nicole. Unfortunately, there has been no returned calls or emails.

I honestly cannot believe what our experience has been like with Newtown Friends School. It was…read morerecommended to us by an acquaintance whose children attend there and love it. Small classes, progressive values such as inclusivity and diversity, values that so much seemed to reflect our own. It just so happens that our fourth grader was the victim of a crime over the summer before attending this new school. His behavior was affected by this event and, initially, NFS staff, using their language of partnership and collaboration, provided support that had an immediate positive impact. As they expressed a willingness to collaborate with us so did they decide NOT to actually collaborate. The simple recommendation was to keep the support in place and unchanged for a number of months. For whatever their reason, they chose not to do so. This immediately set our child up for failure as they made changes to the support that was working perfectly. Despite our efforts to collaborate, they simply changed it with no regard to what would work for our son. As a result, he was basically set up for failure. Our bright and motivated 9-year-old boy was never in so much trouble as he was at NFS. He was clearly under their critical microscope and their lack of understanding, empathy and unwillingness to work with him was both shocking and obvious. We decided that this school was definitely not a match for him or for our family. The values that they tout are good on paper but our experience is that none of them were genuine and there was no caring about our child, family or experience. "Teaching the whole child", and all of their "partnership", was chewed up and spit out along with us. But they made a point of keeping our.overpayment. Please know that NFS collects tuition fully in advance of the school year being complete. So if you invest in this place for your child's education and well-being, be prepared to lose your money if your child is deemed not good enough by those on high in administration. A sad reflection of Quaker values equating to a complete and total lack of empathy, enormous hypocrisy and obvious greed.

I gave KWS four stars because no school is perfect. However, I would have no hesitation in sending…read moremy child there. I attended KWS from K-12th, and graduated in 2011. I had several academic weaknesses that I believe would have landed me in special ed if I had attended public school. Going to Kimberton allowed me to grow into myself in my own time. I *highly* recommend it. I teach at an afterschool program in NYC's Chinatown, and I see stressed, overworked children daily. Their parents hold the attitude that if they constantly study (after school, weekends, vacation, 24/7), only then will they succeed. I have observed several develop anxiety, and too many of them lack the ability to truly think for themselves. My point is, I did not even receive homework in lower school at all and still managed to grow into a capable, college educated adult. KWS (and Waldorf ed in general) actually puts careful thought into the development of children instead of treating them like mini robots. In response to Michael D: All schools have "risky social aspects", but that is due to the students, not the school. In my time at KWS, those who "indulged in pretty much all of it" were strongly dealt with by the school if the incident was on school grounds. Anything else is not the responsibility of the school, but your own, Michael. If you are concerned about what your kid is getting up to, perhaps take a look at your own parental discipline methods?
