The owner is nice. The coffee's nice (no better, no worse). The home-made Bara Brith and other assorted cakes? Most accurately surmised as "nice". Last time I was in the Corner Cafe, the adjacent table was occupied by local Green Party representative, who was quietly discussing her plans to make the world a better place with her policy team (her mum, her uncle and her daughter, as far as I could make out). Ah, isn't that nice?

There's a McDonalds over the road with coffee half the price and no pretence, plus a toilet you can use without dehumanising yourself in the process.

In any event, it certainly is refreshing to be able to grab a non-instant cup of coffee and a tasty muffin from a smiling cashier/barista. I know there was a big palaver to get the proper permits for an eat in coffee place. IMO, it was well worth it. This place is comfy and comforting. Normally, I wouldn't give a chain coffee joint 5 stars but the consistency of Costa is refreshing in deed.

The only dish that I specifically remember our small group being lukewarm on was the octopus (was served chilled and was ok, but not amazing). After you eat (in the back), you can stop in the front of the store to buy more amazing meats, cheeses, olives, and wine to take with you! You may have a wait at times, as seating is fairly limited (we were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday in October, and had to wait only about 10 minutes to be seated). Also...
