There's a very distinctive smell in this library (not a bad one mind!) that transports me back to childhood the instant I walk through those heavy front doors. It's a relatively small local library, but the shelves are well stocked with every genre from literary classics to romance, travel books to media and health. There's a tiny study area elevated above ground level p a few steps, with one big study table and a small desk with heavy wooden chairs. It's a really quiet and studious place to have a quiet read or get some work done. The children's library is up the stairs to the back of the fiction section.
There's a few computers with internet access that must be booked in advance, but they also offer free WiFi, whose range extends as far as the front gate - headphoned punters can often be found huddled on the grass outside piking the connection for Skype calls. read more
