Was seen to promptly by the nurse who took an x-ray and then into see the dentist. He advised the tooth was in quite poor condition and that he would remove the filling and put a temporary one in place. A root canal was looking likely which I sort of expected. He removed the filling without anesthetic which was I thought odd. I was half expecting to have him hit a nerve and me hit the ceiling but thankfully didn't happen. Anyway filling removed he filled it in again and then I think when he was sealing the filling the pain started big time. He kept asking was I ok, to which I kept making pain noises. Anyway he assured me that the pain would subside and that if it didn't, to call the clinic again for an emergency root canal. So off I went back out to the receptionist who gave me a return appointment 2 weeks later. I left the clinic in pretty much the same state I arrived in but at least thinking the pain will now go away. Wrong. The next day I was in serve pain in work but kept thinking it would settle down. When I got home that evening I was still in pain despite taking pain killers so I phoned the clinic at 5.20pm No answer. 10 minutes later tried again still no answer. This went on until 6.30pm (website says open until 9pm) when I gave up and went to the VHI emergency dental clinic. I was advised there to see an endodontist as the tooth was in a bad way. End result, got a different dentist the next day who took out the temporary filling ( I forgot to mention that the filling mydental put in place didn'tfeel right either. I could feel a gap in the tooth. Surely not right??) and the new dentist put a better one in place who is now going to do the canal treatment. Thankfully out of pain and have more faith in the new dentist. Lastly, mydental called me yesterday to say they could bring my appointment forward :-) Queue for me to tell the receptionist of my experience and that I wouldn't be going back to which the reply was 'oh ok, thank you goodbye'. Nice.

So far I am very impressed with this place. I am having some teeth work done and it is a long and…read moreexpensive process I do however feel like I am in the most capable hands and I am honestly very excited about all of it. Only downside here is that you can only get an appointment a month in the future although I see this as a good sign, they really know what they are doing.

When I called to make my the appointment I was informed I couldn't see the hygienist until I saw the main Dentist as this is common practice for a new patient. I waited two weeks for an appointment which wasn't too bad. The office is located about 5 minutes from the top of Camden street and inside an old Georgian house. The reception is located on the bottom floor and I was greeted by two very friendly receptionist. Filled out a quick form and was right on time to meet with Dr. Ed. Being honest I was actually taken aback by Dr. Ed's friendliness. You can tell that his patients are very important to him and he took genuine interest in myself. He was quick and precise but at no point did I feel rushed. I definitely felt he knew what he was talking about. I was then moved along to the Hygienist who again I felt very comfortable with. I would highly recommend.

Everything was explained and all the options were given..a pre-bill so I knew how much everything would cost over the next month...4/5 visits! I was disappointed with one thing; I had a filling and it was to cost E120. I went tot the front desk to pay I was charged more, nearly E30 more. I questioned it and was told the filling was deeper than originally expected so it cost more... communication PLEASE...never knew this until I was being charged...my pre-bill quote flew out the window :(

I won't detail specifics of his behaviour, as no part of the interaction was positive, aside to say that I, the patient, had to pause the procedure, following the local anesthetic, with a pliers in my mouth, to ask him to clarify what he wanted me to functionally do as he barked (and no other word will do) that I "relax my tongue". He continued to bark this at me, after this. I came to the clinic in pain and in a vulnerable state; had I any other option, I would have left after the assessment, given it was clear that his manner was what it was. The dental nurse who was accompanying him was lovely, obviously embarrassed and tried to ameliorate the atmosphere he created but he also spoke to her contemptuously as she assisted. Do not go here!

From the moment I walked in the door I felt cared for and in good hands. Helen the receptionist is extremely helpful and overall Just a lovely person. Any appointments arranged were simple and often Helen would call be back to fit me in at a time even more convenient. Dr.Cahill himself was very thorough and explained the whole process in an easy and stress free way. I felt he really took his time to give me the right treatment and felt listened to. The dental nurse (whos name I did not catch) was also very lovely constantly checking I was ok and providing outstanding care. He was rude & condescending towards me, bordering on contemptuous, when I couldn't bite down with my front teeth aligning with the bottom teeth (I have an overbite which made it impossible.) Also I didn't like that he kept touching my belly during the x-ray to get me to stand up straighter as I hadn't given him permission to touch me there and he didn't ask. I left feeling disrespected. I called the office afterwards to give feedback about it, and his receptionist said he was not available to receive it. My advice is, find a nicer dentist.

There are different dentists at this practice and if you like one I would ask for them again. Its unfortunate one might give the place not such a good name. The last dentist was rough and the injection site was sore for days after. I had asked her what was involved in taking out a root left in the gum and she would only say simple, simple when I really wanted to know what she was going to do. When I arrived for my appointment I was given a disclaimer to sign that listed possible complications such as permanent numbness, so much for simple. Poor communication. She seemed to be on a tight time schedule and was rushing me to say I felt numb even though I didn't. She kept repeating pressure ok, pressure ok. I wanted to tell her I know what numb feels like but there was an instrument in my mouth. Then the assistant came rushing over as if I was a troublesome patient who needed to be calmed. I will ask for the nice dentist in future.
