Very disappointing experience -- issue not resolved…read more I visited "Velocity - Epic" after a friend recommended Jeff to me as someone knowledgeable about vehicle key fobs and related issues. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I have a 2011 Dodge Journey, and I was having an intermittent problem with the key fobs. Sometimes the fob would not unlock the vehicle, forcing me to open the car manually. The alarm would then go off, and I would have to quickly use the fob with the start button to get the vehicle started. Because this was happening unpredictably, it was quite stressful. I had already replaced the batteries in all three fobs at another shop for $20, and they did not charge me anything for the labour. Unfortunately, the problem continued. Based on my friend's recommendation, I brought the vehicle to Velocity - Epic and explained the problem to Jeff. He got into the vehicle, connected his diagnostic equipment, and checked for error codes. No errors were found. The entire process took approximately 5-10 minutes. I was then charged $75 plus tax, for a total of approximately $84. I understand that professional diagnostic work has a value and that businesses need to charge for their time. However, in this case, the problem was not diagnosed or resolved. When I explained this and asked whether he could reduce the charge given that the issue remained completely unresolved, he declined and charged the full amount. What disappointed me most was not simply the $84 charge. It was the feeling that there was very little consideration for the fact that I came in specifically looking for help with a problem and left with exactly the same problem I had before. My friend who recommended the business was also surprised when I told him what happened. I have since spoken with other people about the situation, and they were also surprised by the amount charged for such a short diagnostic visit that produced no solution. I am not someone who expects people to work for free. I genuinely appreciate skilled work and am happy to pay a fair price when someone provides a service. But I do expect reasonable treatment and value for what I pay. Unfortunately, I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with my key fobs, and this visit did not help resolve the problem. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Velocity - Epic and would personally not return.
