Shedrow, a Canadian brand of dog coats is IT. Got a cute coat for my pup, and was tempted by many of their other offerings, but a girl's suitcase is only so large. Two women employees were talking about their love life for a long time. Everyone in the store was staring as well. Usually when you see a potential customer bent over awwwing at the cage of guinea pigs you would come up and strike up a conversation hoping to make a sale. This isn't a shop that was built for the sole purpose of turning a buck, but because they are truly passionate about their product. I learn new things about my pet all the time by visiting here. Second, just as they care about their animals, they care about their customers. I have a crazy life; I'm frequently (see: weekly) being sent out of country for work, to include overseas, and Pawse has been there for me every step of the way. Their delivery service is an absolute life-saver for our family. Finally, their pricing. I upgraded my food by coming here, and still save money week after week. I returned them to the store to tell them "hey this is super dangerous for dogs, my puppy has already consumed some of the plastic and I really hate to think what a dog larger than 3 lbs can do to these toys" and they couldn't care less. They house their leopard geckos all together in one small terrarium with the wrong substrate, 2 hides, a water bowl and mealworm bowl. There are on average usually 10-12 Leopard Geckos in that single terrarium, ranging from babies to juveniles. They were literally sleeping / standing on each other because the two hides weren't enough for so many, and the paper towel in one of the hides was soaked with feces and pee. The situation for their leopard geckos seems to be the norm for most of their reptiles, apart from the snakes. I did not see a single lizard / gecko species in a terrarium that either didn't suit their needs or was overcrowded. The indoor decor is beautiful, but very dusty. The employees are kind, patient and helpful

We came across Pattes et Griffes on Mont-Royal which is another chain pet store like Mondou. They had a LOT of merchandise in this location so it was quite right, and there was also a LOT of people so it was even tighter. COVID wise this was a bit of a concern but at the same time it's an essential service and I appreciate that people are so supportive of their pets and a pet store. The five stars comes from the exceptional service we received from the folks working there. They heard us taking about our cat needing a harness and they immediately pointed us to the right direction. When they saw we needed help, they came to us and helped. They even let Kimchi try on the harnesses for sizing! They were honestly so nice and we really appreciated their time. Overall, a great experience in this pet store.
