My mother has lived at The Vincent for 1.5 years. The campus is beautiful and on the outside well…read moremaintained. From a business perspective, however, it leaves much to be desired. Maintenance, housekeeping and kitchen staff are a Revolving door. Thus, there is no consistency. The management staff is young and inexperienced. Concerns are generally dismissed and communication is poor. Having meals provided was a big draw for us in choosing The Vincent. The menus are not tailored for any special health concerns, ie diabetes, dairy intolerance, etc. It is not unusual to wait in the dining hall an hour to be served a meal. Complaints fall on deaf ears. For almost 2 years we have waited for the problems to be corrected. There are choices for Senior living in Lafayette. I would look elsewhere.

The facility is beautiful and new. They have had many many issues fully opening due to covid…read more I've been trying to be patient and understanding for these reasons. But I'm now tired of paying this money and not getting what we pay for. The Food is terribly unhealthy. All carbs, covered in butter, cream and cheese - EVERYTHING - even the salads. Every soup is cream based. My mother is lactose intolerant, as are 6% of population - and higher if you are older - and many don't know it. Feeding these elderly people this diet - when they ALL have know issues with their cardiac function and brain function (alzheimers or dementia) is just a crime. There is no certified dietician. They have been thru 3-4 chefs and this person knows nothing about healthy meals. For 5 mos - my mother has had to skip meals all together because not one thing was dairy free. Then even WORSE, is they will lie to her and tell her it's dairy free - and she eats it and is sick all night long. Secondly - the brochure advertises a FLEET of beautiful town cars for their transportation. There is ONE towncar... it was wrecked 2 mos ago and sat wrecked in their parking lot for a month and is now finally in the shop. That leaves my mother with 2 busses, one which she cannot climb into. Be aware the busses only run daytime. They stop taking calls at 5pm. So if they want to go anywhere after 5:00, there is no transportation. And you must call 24hrs in advance to get a ride. For what reason? If the car is available, why can't you call and request on the spot? All designed to discourage the very thing they committed to providing. My mother had a completely paid for house before moving in the Vincent. The REASON we moved in is for her to have meals, transportation and socialization. This has gone on long enough. The move in date, for people living in temporary accommodations, has been pushed and pushed and pushed. My mother has had to pay additional storage expense for 5 mos, because they kept pushing and pushing the move in date. Before you sign the contract, they lie about how soon the move in is. Once you sign - the inconvenience and costs are all on the resident - and their concern and compassion evaporates. The ladies in the staff are very accommodating and very compassionate with the residents. The male staff members are like shrewd car salesmen. Be aware if you are considering the Vincent - I would wait a year until this place has ironed out the kinks. We are paying an exhorbitant amount, and NOT getting what we are paying for. I'm having to do way more for my Mom now - than before she moved. I'm having to cook for her, drive her places, grocery shop and run errands and take her to the Dr. So do not fall for the sales pitch. This place will not be fully operational for many months to come.
