The undisputed heavyweight champion of curries, this place is a family owned Indian cuisine…read morerestaurant where you can either eat-in or take away.
The prices are reasonable, the portions are fit for a King, and the staff are always very polite and helpful.
They cater for a variety of traditional dishes here, cooking everything from Korma's to Vindaloo's, (a particular favourite of mine is the Vegetable Vindaloo), as well as dozens of starter-dishes, side-dishes and desserts.
The dishes are a little milder compared to other restaurants, but this works in the favour of the establishment as you can taste the food as well as the spices, so as such, a Vindaloo here is about as spicy as a Madras at other places.
The restaurant doesn't have an alcohol license though, so whilst they sell soft drinks, they advise that if you want to drink alcoholic beverages to bring your own.
Although the restaurant seems small, this is due to the decor and soft lighting, whch helps create a relaxed atmosphere, however there will always be a table available for you, (you can also phone up to reserve a table).
The music is just right, (they'll even change the CD for you if you're not too keen on what's being played), and isn't too loud or too quiet.
At Christmas, they have an "all you can eat buffet" style service, where you can order as much as you want from the menu for just £20 per person, (this may vary by a few quid, so best to check with the owners for prices nearer the time).
They'll also cook a traditional British Christmas dinner using Indian spices in addition to everything on the menu.
Put simply, I cannot fault this place.
