He came back and said it didn't and that the cymbals were missing. I told him that this was false advertising and he said, "It's really not, I mean it's on Clearance." I told him if it doesn't have all the pieces the listing should mention that and I pointed out the cymbal reference (CYM)and that it mentions being a complete set. He responded, "It's Clearance so what do you want me to do, make one for you? I don't know what to tell you." Needless to say it was a very classy experience and I will likely not be buying from here. It's one thing to list a product improperly and not include a notice of missing parts. It's even worse to have an employee defend it nonchalantly.

They offer classes from beginner through advanced and have music classes for people as young as kindergarten. I have seen people of all ages taking lessons. they offer your first lesson for free so you can see if you like the instructor. The only down side is that they do not have a full time staff person and it is often hard to reach someone to get information.

He is progressing rapidly and enjoying it thoroughly. The Good: its a local shop and it makes you feel good to support them. The people are cool and the products / repairs are great. Leon is always interesting to talk with and he has comfortable seating in the store. They also have a cool music store feel and parking is pretty good right out front. The Bad: The hours are a little restrictive, but they work out. The Ugly: There is no ugly! Cool folks, great lessons, and interesting location. We dig it! And will continue to come here.

They do seem to enjoy showing how well they play an instrument and then they neither offer, nor provide, an opportunity for a customer to try the instruments. Very strange. Can only be explained by recognizing that these corporate employees had no incentive or desire to treat the customer well and then try to sell them something. Glad the three employees of the month who were "working" when I went there got to discuss the issues of the day and enjoy each other's company because selling guitars was not their concern. Try Hoggtown, or pretty much any other music store.

I called to make my appointment, which I originally thought I'd have to do on the weekend since all other string stores are closed by the time I'm off work, and Molly was happy to give me some time on a Thursday night. I think I was there till a little after 8 and at no point did I feel rushed. When I arrived she had a select few violins ready for me to try for my level. In our initial phone call I hadn't given too much information about my skill but her selections for me were 100% what I needed. From reviews at other shops I thought I was going to be pressured into buying something expensive that I didn't need. That was absolutely not the case here. The selections she showed me were all in my price range and she answered any questions I had to make sure I chose the perfect instrument. I'll definitely be coming back.
