I am extremely disappointed with Peerless' lack of quality, service, and care. Several weeks ago, I dropped off numerous items to be dry cleaned, including a brand new suit dress that had never been worn. When I got it back, there was a thread hanging from the sleeve and the stitching of the hem of the sleeve had come apart (literally, hanging by a thread). I immediately called Barb, the manager of the Warsaw store. I explained how there was no issue with the dress and no thread hanging by the sleeve when I dropped off my new dress. Barb said they would send it out to have the company they use to fix it. I asked about this company's expertise because I was concerned that they would not be able to match the stitching to the other side and this was an expensive, work dress. Barb said she would make sure to tell the company to make the stitching match the other side. She even wrote those instructions down. After a few days, I pick up the dress and other items that had to get re-pressed (i.e. a 5 inch crease on work pants that shouldn't be there, some shirts that had some issues - none of which was a big issue to get re-pressed). I get home and look at my new dress and the stitching the company had done to fix did not match the other side. It was clear to me that the company Peerless sent the dress out to fix the hem of the sleeve did not have the skills and just did a terrible job. I called Barb and asked her if she looked at the dress when it came back. She said no. I told her that the hem of the sleeve did not match and it was not done properly. She said the only thing they could do was send it back to the same company that initially worked on the dress. I told her I did not want to send it back to the same company that did an incompetent job - and asked are there other companies they could use. She said she would talk to her area manager Beth. Barb called me back and that Beth said the only option they had was to send it back to that one company they use; they would not send it to another place to fix. Barb commented that at least they had not charged me to fix the stitching. I have to say, that was insulting - Peerless caused the damage to the dress and they were reminding me that I did not have to pay for their mess up. Barb said I could call Dave, the general manager. I called Dave on Wednesday, September 29, and left a message with a female, providing my number and asked for a call back. No call back from the general manager. Five days later on Monday, October 4, I again called Dave and the same female took my name and number. I asked whether the message had been relayed to him the week prior and she said yes. Five days later, still no call back from Dave, the general manager. So, based on my experience, Peerless' quality is lacking as they damaged a new dress I brought in for dry cleaning. Peerless' service and care is abominable. Their only solution to the problem they caused after damaging my new dress is to send it back to the same company who could not fix it properly the first time and refuse to send it to a new company (I imagine we are only talking about a $10 fix). And, Peerless' general manager will not call me back despite calls and messages though they advertise they have been delivering 100 years of quality, service, and care. read more
