I reached out to Heidi via Yelp and got a great bid from her for her compost - she sells it by 5-gallon bucket. Her prices are very comparable to what you can buy in volume at the store, possibly a little more?, but the quality is outstanding! You get a full soil ecosystem, wet and dark and smelling like rich earth. She'll even drop it off at your house for a small fee. I can't wait to use my fresh compost, and I can't wait to re-purchase again in the future! Such a great quality product and Heidi so nice and so easy to work with! What a wonderful idea. A business that picks your scrap food up from your home and takes it to be composted back into the earth. So instead of throwing food down the garbage disposal, it is re-purposed as a nutrient back to the earth that it came from. I loved the cheery hand painted tub that Heidi brought me, and the new one she replaced it with at every pick up. One of the beat decisions I've made in the last few years is signing up for this composting service. With the state of the world it's so hard to know what to do when you want to try to improve the world. Hiring Heidi to pick up my organic food waste and turn it into nourishing compost makes me feel like I am doing something. It's well worth the investment to sleep a little better at night knowing that all that food is not going to be adding to a landfill. I haVe recycled about 20 large garbage bags of food over the last few years. I definitely recommend it. And I wish more large corporate companies would employ a service like this.
