He is friendly, charming, easy to talk to, with a great sense of humor, and kept the crowd partying on the dance floor the whole night. Everyone loved him! The songs played were awesome. The sound at the reception was good enough to comfortably talk during cocktail time and not overly loud during the dancing. Great sound balance. Fantastic experience! I highly recommend him. For reference, my wedding was in October 2007. I first contacted them in March 2007. I filled out their forms, and agreed to pay them $500 for their services. They do not require a deposit. I contacted them again in August to make sure they still had us in their schedule. They did. I contacted them again at the beginning of October so that I could meet with my DJ and discuss song choices with the DJ. One of the DJs called me back and told me he'd be DJing my wedding. He was kind of rude and kept saying, "I can't believe you've waited this long to get a DJ, I can't believe you've waited this long to contact us!" After SEVERAL of these comments, I was like, UMMM I first reserved yall in March. He seemed surprised. Later in the conversation, he said he could meet with me to talk in Round Rock. I live in Houston. My wedding was going to be in Houston. He was shocked, he thought my wedding would be in Austin. Apparently, because my cell phone number had a 512 area code (I went to school there), DJs Unlimited assumed my wedding would be in Austin and didn't take the time to read a few lines down on their form and see that my wedding would be in Houston. So they assigned me the Austin DJ. Fine. I guess that's an easily-made mistake. A few days later I met with this DJ in person. He kept making comments like, "Wow I've never met a bride like you before, I can't believe you haven't chosen these songs yet!!!!!" He wasn't saying this in a joking fashion, he was actually taken aback by my "lack of preparation". And the songs he couldn't believe I hadn't chosen were the flipping cake cutting song and anniversary dance song. I apparently wasn't bridezilla enough for him because I wasn't f-ing freaking out about the cake cutting song! Anyway, I was not very happy with being insulted by a DJ. During this meeting, I also paid an extra $250 for a screen and projector system to be set up and run during the beginning of the reception. When I met with the reception people, they told me I could get a screen and projector for them for $150. I contacted DJs Unlimited and told them I was canceling my order for the screen and projector. I get another call from the DJ concerning my songs, I think we were confirming another song choice. He again seemed to be under the impression that my wedding was in Austin. I told him it was in Houston. Fast forward to a few days before the wedding. I receive a call from another DJ, different from the one I previously dealt with, and he tells me he will be the DJ for my wedding. Okaaay. Fine. This guy tells me that he knows where my reception location is and he will see me on Saturday. The DJ was fine at the wedding, although of the 5-6 songs I requested be played that I had discussed with the first DJ, only one was played. These songs were special to my husband and I, and they were left out. The real irritation I had with DJs Unlimited was that it took them a good 5 months and many, many phone calls for them to refund my $250. I was so irritated. I first canceled the order in mid-October and did not receive a refund from them until mid-March. To be honest, I would not recommend DJs Unlimited to anyone. They were probably the most difficult wedding vendor I dealt with. I did not appreciate being insulted by the first DJ, and I really didn't appreciate them constantly telling my husband our check was in the mail when it wasn't. They get two stars because the DJ at the wedding was an overall good DJ. Dealing with the company, however, was not a good experience.

Buyer Beware This is…read morea review of Sock Monkey Photography and how poor their customer service is: CJ (my stepson) goes to a private school in the Galleria area. Sock Monkey Photography ~USUALLY~ does some good work. There are props, there is good lighting, good camera angles, the works. Every time we have had pictures taken by them at school, we would be given a few proofs to look at at then we would choose rather to buy them or not. THIS time we were asked to pay in advance before seeing a picture and we were given a picture of what the set up would look like. CJ did great, but the picture looked, well, unprofessional at best. Especially for a $50 picture (that, again, we don't get to see before). Here are my problems with the picture taken and also posted with this rant. 1. The picture does not look like the picture we were shown for expectations. 2. The backdrop/floor. There are other pictures of Sock Monkey doing the same shoot but with a floor backdrop in place, we received a wonky backdrop with the school's carpet. 3. That beard. 4. Santa's hat is yellowing. 5. Rain boots? 6. There is a single light source coming from the front left leaving awkward shadows on the right side of the image. 7. The backdrop is washed out. So, me being the reasonable person that I am, find a phone number and call to speak with someone about it. I called first last Thursday and then got a call back yesterday (not from the photographer). I was then told he would have to call me back. The photographer called me and was nice for about 15 seconds as I explained who I was, even bringing up that he knew my father (small word). It was a quick 15 seconds of nice-ness as the moment I expressed my disappointment with the photograph taken, I was then berated with a tangent of very aggressive and unprofessional excuses of why the image looked like such. He very obviously took it as a personal attack on his ego that I had the nerve to critique his image. He literally said "WELL, IT'S IN FOCUS! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?!" (probably the only positive thing to say about the image other than CJ's smile, to be honest). Now, I'm not an unreasonable guy. but $50 for a single picture that I don't get to see beforehand? And then you get aggressive on the phone? Now, he did offer to take refund $12 for the digital image. To which I told him, I'd rather just tell the world my experience. So, here it is.

The school is actually not EVER doing business with them again due to there unprofessional customer service towards there clients. An ENTIRE school! I tried credit card over the phone, but timing was never good for them to take it. They tried calling me back after 7:30pm when I was putting my children to bed. I even tried to explain this to them. I asked to leave a check at the school, they actually stated they don't accept checks and I still have the text message from her to prove it!!! They also wouldn't even release my pictures when the school offered ANY of the payments they mentioned below.. Literally, can't make this stuff up... Notice how long it even took them to respond.. BC they were just trying to cover up with a lie to make themselves look better.. Merry Christmas grinch!

Their pricing was reasonable and I appreciate them finding a solution that worked with our budget. Love that also as the host, we received the links for all the videos and photos in case the guests asked. The customer service is EXCELLENT! Edgar is responsive, thorough and makes sure everything is confirmed for the digital branding. Finally, they were impressively efficient and easy when onsite. They arrived on time and set up and broke down with no issues! They are first on my call list for any future events!
