Inexcusable scheduling and then they have these large signs about a late policy and how you will get penalized. That's ridiculous. Given an hour and a half to just be seen and be treated so poorly. I don't care how good the providers are there are other places people could pick unless you're just retired and have a half a day to hang out in their lobby!! they have never historically with her other older child been on time. People that came in 30 minutes after she did have left the lobby and many others have as well some practices just take advantage of people that don't complain. Do not use this practice. There's no excuse.

But when my son was born and Dr. Flint made the initial visit for this practice, my husband and I were blown away and immediately made PPA our son's primary doctor. We saw 3 of the doctors during our hospital stay and all were patient and thorough, as well as very informative. We now see Dr. Flint and then Dr. Beck if Flint isn't available. We drive in from Lawrence because I know of no one comparable in our town. When I did try to see a different office in Lawrence it was to try and avoid the drive, and ended up being a horrible experience. I immediately returned to PPA. I have never waited more than 5 minutes at their offices, which is amazing as my stepdaughters use a Doctor in Lawrence who has a typical wait time of 1 hour minimum. I never feel rushed and they are always so good with my son. When my son had a medical emergency, the nurse got the doctor while I was on hold so I could get an immediate answer. Their care is very comprehensive. It's no wonder why they have such a great reputation in Johnson County!

At another point he said that no vaccine would ever hurt my child. As someone who was vaccine injured and deals with the repercussions of that injury every day, this was very jarring to hear. He has not once provided informed consent to us the entire time we have been at this practice since my son was born. It is not ethical to say that vaccines pose no risk and no doctor can honestly promise that nothing is going to happen because that is not in their control. The lying an intense pushback against parents who are simply looking to do what is best for their children makes me reconsider all vaccines. We are a family that accepts 95% of the recommended vaccines and now I will be digging deeper into all of their inserts and making decisions about what is best for my family because that is my job. My job is not to line the pockets of greedy doctors at the possible expense of my children's health and safety.

Everything has been great so far. Parking: Adjacent garage that's usually easy to get a spot in, despite being a congested area with hospitals around. The elevators in the garage look the exact same as when I was a kid and that's not necessarily a good thing. Definitely not made for the claustrophobic; I take the stairs even when hauling my little chubster in a car seat. Office: Nice, friendly and efficient. I've yet to wait well beyond my appointment time. Hours: Another plus, they have weekend hours although we haven't had to take them up on the offer yet. Quality: Top-notch. Great doctors across the board and a place you can trust. While we're fortunate to have only had to go here for check-ups and shots, it's been a five star experience so far and it was an easy decision to come here. The only universal law is that you're bound to catch some kinda germ or bug in the lobby here in the winter, so wash your hands!

All of the patients here and doctors and staff are exposed to COVID 19 patients in the common areas and parking garage. The staff at pediatric associates does not think this is a problem at all and were quite rude. They said it was the business of the building manager and st Luke's if they have testing in the same building.

It's a small difference but it has always made me feel welcome and heard because they listen to and address all my questions, no matter how many I have. I am often alone with 2 little kids and Megan will always jump in to help entertain my toddler. Stacy always takes time to address all of my questions and concerns. I never feel rushed during our appointments and she always has great suggestions if there are things we are struggling with. Stacy and Megan are always excited to see my kids. I truly feel like my kids are loved and cared for so well by them. Even Angie at the front desk is excited when we come in. She has always been great to work with over the phone and can always get us in quickly when needed. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My lack of planning does not constitute an emergency for anyone else, and I didn't expect them to drop everything to bail me out... however, I thought, let me just ask to see what they might be able to do... So, I called the office to ask for their help in sending me records, and despite my apalling lack of notice, they accommodated me and helped me by emailing me records! Say what?!?!?! Of course, I had to comply with written authorizations, which is absolutely the right way to go... Ms. Traci was my LIFESAVER today! Seriously, talk about taking good care of their patients! And technically, since we moved out of state, we are no longer patients... and they still went above and beyond! Truly, this place is full of caring, kind and amazing individuals. Dr. Meyers and Dr. Dam have been truly awesome throughout the years, very thorough, patient and detailed, and we miss them very very much. Our five month old son woke up at 2am with raspy, strained breathing that sounded so scary. We went to urgent care right when they opened, checked in, and were seen within 45 minutes. (There were about five families in front of us that had checked in first, but we got seen before them because we had a baby under a year old that was having breathing problems.) Once they checked his weight, oxygen levels, and heart rate, they sped up the process since it seemed serious. Within minutes there were three wonderful nurses and NPs who were helping us out and wasting no time... They gave him Tylenol for his fever, an oxygen treatment for his breathing, and a steroid for his lungs. There was a night and day difference in his breathing after the breathing treatment. Praise the Lord for modern medicine and treatments like this. It is so scary when your baby is sick and struggling to breathe, and the fact that they immediately took him under their wing was so comforting. They also took the time to educate my husband and I on what the illness was, and how to continue treating it when we got home. (We're first-time parents so this was greatly appreciated.) I'm so thankful that this was our first experience at a children's urgent care...especially during a time that felt so scary and unknown. To the team at Children's Mercy: THANK YOU!!! You are doing tough, tiresome, momentous work--and I'm sure you see what seems like a million kids during cold and flu season--but know that your efforts and kindness are SEEN and SO appreciated. The typical urgent care gripes are definitely present... long waits and some less-than-enthused receptionists BUT the care from nurses and doctors has always been 10/10. My husband's coworker recommended this place and I called to set up a free prenatal visit to meet the newborn team and see if it would be a good fit. The moment I called to set up this appointment I knew we would be in good hands. The receptionist was so unbelievably sweet! Great first impression! We met with Mindy, the lactation consultant, and Janice Martin, MD. We left the visit knowing this would be the place! Fast forward and now our little girl is 2 months old and I am still singing praises for Pediatric Care Specialist. Mindy was such a vital support for my family during the tough few weeks of attempting to breast feed. She even gave me her home phone number over the Christmas holiday-- who does that? So thankful for her help! We ended up switching to see one of their nurse practitioners, Megan McGown, because she saw us during our first visit and we fell in love! She is so encouraging, gentle, and patient! She answers all our questions-- and we have a lot as new parents! Such a relief to find a place that we feel confident taking our little one to for the next 18 years!
