This place has a great location and often has live performances. We came here twice. Although this place is advertised as a seafood + karyoke place they don't really do karyoke in the same sense that we do in the US. For instance, there is no opportunity to sing over a microphone over a song of your choice with lyrics provided. Rather, it is more of a live performance place for traditional Mexican music, which gets a little repetitive after a while but is enjoyable as dancing music. It is really too loud here to have a conversation about anything worthwhile though.
We ordered one gordas for 15 pesos, one panuchos for 22 pesos, and a chicken empanada for 15 pesos. These are reasonable prices for us and we liked that it allowed us to see what each of those items was without committing to a whole meal.
The customer service was friendly and is eager to serve customers ... the bathroom is also clean and the sink is complete with running water and fresh soap. They never let you sit on their outside furniture without ordering at least 100 pesos worth of food even if no one is sitting there otherwise - so there is that. We didnt even order that much food prior (which we paid in cash) so we decided to not order anything and just sit on a bench close by. We generally liked the food and liked that you could order small amounts at once but did not feel the need to order it again as there are lots of other tasty restaurants in the area.
The empanada we had was nothing special but it was okay atleast although we have had better versions of this food at other restaurants and even at school cafeteria.
We had the first time ever trying Panucho Gordas here but can not really compare it to anything else since we never had it anywhere else. I liked the Gordas although it was a bit oily for me and did not really consist if much - just cream lettuce and cheese on top of fried dough. The Panucho had beans, chicken and eggs although I imagine I could make something similar myself but have it be tastier. The chicken and sauce were not special (probably the same chicken they used in the empanada) and I could have just but pureed beans and eggs on a tortilla myself at home.
Overall, it is still nice if you enjoy live performances and are willing to order 100 pesos of mediocre food. Not something I need to do since I prefer other restaurants nearby. read more
