I went to Pearson today to take the GMAT. Security was airtight. I counted 12 instances where I had to provide a "palm vein" image, in the course of 2.5 hours. You do a photo verification, a drivers license verification, and even your eyeglasses and facial tissues are scrutinized for notes that might be hidden therein. Such is the state of testing fraud intervention today. The test takes place in a fishbowl with an observer in a central glass station making sure there's no hanky panky happening. They give ear plugs, a washable writing pad, and a locker. Notwithstanding the overall non-private squicky feel that all of this gave me, the test administration staff are wonderful, polite, and helpful. Overall, an A-OK experience that felt professional and got the job done. read more
