My family thoroughly enjoyed our 11-night stay at Pear Tree Cottage in June 2017. The cottage is homely, warm and well-equipped with everything needed to self-cater for an extended period. The beds were comfy with high-quality linens and sufficient storage. Both bedrooms had modern en suites with hot, strong showers and heated towel rails. The living area was bright, light and tastefully decorated. We had ample outdoor space for our son to play and we made good use of the outdoor furniture on warm sunny evenings. The host family are very friendly. The property is in a quiet and peaceful farming location, but still only a short distance (just over 1 mile) to two great pubs, Running Fox cafe and village store in Longframlington. We found this a perfect central location to visit sites in the north-east and borders including Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands, Northumberland National Park, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Cragside, Hadrians Wall, Alnwick and coastal villages. We live in Australia and sadly won't be returning for a while, but will highly recommend Pear Tree Cottage to any friends travelling to the area. read more
