This is a Caveat Emptor for anyone thinking of hiring Christine Peak (or Peake in some areas) and PeakPRGroup.
I am writing on behalf nearly a dozen people, not including our respective boards and event partners that have had the same miserable, non-productive and no-results delivered experiences.
Most all of us have tried to share the horrible and unprofessional experiences that we had with Christine.
We were met with crazy litigious threats, drunken rants, and nasty texts at all hours of the night, plus direct threats, verbal intimidation and the promise of personally targeted defamation of character on the Internet and via word of mouth.
While we were all within our right as clients, not to mention the First Amendment of the Constitution, the fruitless uphill battle of attorneys, telephonic harassment or drunken tirades were simply not worth the battle that we had already left.
There have been brief Yelps about her work, but I can only assume that they met the same nightmarish fate.
Two organizational principles, our charity included, read one of them simultaneous to living the experience underscoring this as a common occurrence.
Shared horrible experiences:
1. She has been dropped by nearly every regular and charitable client, plus a national citizenry philanthropic social group, that has retained her in the last three to four years. We cannot list names in order to avoid frivolous lawsuits (please note these threats are ongoing years later, one person is still receiving frivolous legal threats and angry texts).
2. The two to three hour phone call you can't get off of. It starts at the day's end with Christine calling you while making dinner and having wine. It ends with drunken stammering two to three hours later, either being promised the world or being ranted at and lectured.
3. Complete non-delivery of event grandiosity, press or celebrities that she promises to deliver to your organization. She generally just attends and gets a few beverages (note that she keeps all the excess in-kind donated beverages and moves them to her office versus letting the client or charity keep the donated products that were donated to them and their event), and then ties one on and leaves early.
4. Being ridiculed because you "do not have enough PR, assets or VIP's attending your events." Ergo, the reason she is being hired is why you are later ridiculed. And she won't be able to get press or look good because "your celebrities aren't showing up."
5. She then threatens to leave because you are not professional enough, but keeps her fees.
6. Getting drunk at your events (please note that her hands often tremor in meetings from long term substance abuse).
7. Continuous bipolar diatribes about the Red Cross, her client, being wonderful and incompetent. That their events would not work without her, but that they constantly want to dump her because they are incompetent or threatened by her. Note that the next client hears how great the Red Cross is and she sings their praises until later into your event.
