My wife & I, and our cat Marco, recently moved to Granbury. In the process, Marco had to make a few…read moretrips, in the car, as we moved items from Tarrant County to Hood County. During this time, we noticed Marco did not always pee in his box. Often he would pee outside the box. Pooing was always in the box (thank goodness). From past experience we have learned that "inappropriate urination" may be a sign of an underlying health problem. We were hoping that, once fully in Granbury, it would stop, but it didn't. It was not happening in Marco's "old" home. Out an abundance of caution, we decided to find a vet for Marco. We picked Granbury Animal Clinic because it is close to our home, but also because of the positive reviews. The clinic was also able to get us in the same day, which made us very happy. Granbury Animal Clinic presents very well. The waiting area is clean and tidy, with lots of room (to social distance, or to give different species a little extra room from each other). Jenifer, a veterinary technician, brought us three to an exam room. She collected Marco's vitals and went to get the doctor. We now met Dr. Ronny Naylor. Dr. Naylor suggest taking a urine sample, to rule out infection. To our relief, the sample did not show infection, so this likely means it a behavioral problem, perhaps brought on stress (of a new home). Dr. Naylor prescribed Gabapentin, to help calm Marco down a little. I was not familiar with Gabapentin, and goggling it does say, "Gabapentin can produce feelings of relaxation, calmness and euphoria." Sounds just like what Marco needs. Gabapentin is given orally, and this is where we saw Jenifer's skills! As a cat foster, I have given oral meds to cats before, and it's not easy. But Jenifer did this in one smooth motion, from the side, that Marco never even saw it coming. I also missed it too! Impressive. It's now up to us to give Marco his Gabapentin, three times a day. So the good news is it seems to working. Marco seems calmer, evidenced by longer naps. And so far two days have gone by, and he is peeing in his box. Whew! So big thanks do Dr. Naylor and Jenifer! It was very nice meeting you, and talking with you. You both show the friendliness that made us so happy with our move to Granbury! Oh, Marco's new "catio" should be finished shortly, and this will also help. Bottom line: Very happy to have chosen Granbury Animal Clinic.

While visiting family in Granbury, my dog began experiencing sudden neurological symptoms which sent me into a panic. I was a mess, being that we were out of town and needing an emergent consult. I was so anxious that an unfamiliar vet wouldn't give us the time of day and/or would snatch her out of hands for testing and pokes she may not need. Dr. Kristina Gesell was exactly opposite of that. She was so kind, patient, and gentle with my pup. She sat on the floor with us and interpreted her entire history through my tearful slur. She was conservative but assertive and communicated all possibilities while validating our concerns. She made us feel like regulars. We were very grateful to have her. Thank you Dr. Gesell!

I had an experience, and because of that experience I am entitled to an opinion. I can't comment on difference in ownership because I was not a customer of theirs before they sold out. I adopted a dog from our local animal shelter. The fee I paid included her spay, but only certain vets in the area honored the voucher. Hence why I picked MSAH. My first impression was great. The owner sat down on the floor with my pup, loved on her, gave her kisses, etc,. I felt pretty comfortable allowing my pup to receive treatment from this particular vet. I went ahead and scheduled her spay with them. They closed at 6 so I arrived around 540 to pick up my pup. They were already doing closing duties (I get it) but seemed very put out by my arrival time. I had discussed the pick up time before I brought her in just incase I needed to make other arrangements. I was told it wouldn't be an issue. I received my payment receipt from the tech who also went over what not to do. I paid the extra money to have blood work done; however, none of that was addressed with me during our discussion. It was an in and out, as fast as possible situation. When we got home I noticed that my dogs abdomen seemed very irritated and, quite frankly the incision looked like it was made with a butter knife. I kept it cleaned hoping that the only issue we would have was an ugly scar. Sadly, she has now developed dime size blood/pus balls on some parts of the incision. I understand that this could be caused by all sorts of things. I'm not fully blaming the vet, but I do believe they are partly responsible. I personally feel like they treated her as if she was 'chopped liver'. A 'pro-bono surgery' situation, if you will, so why put much time into it?! I make that assessment because they had another surgery that same day. I would have loved to have seen the incision/suture work on that patient. Needless to say I will never make the mistake of taking my animal there again.The staff is also not very polite. I hate to make a blanket statement, considering this doesn't necessarily encompass everyone; but when you work in an establishment, you become grouped together. Not 1800-Pet Meds friendly. The vet refused to fax the prescriptions for me. Which is what 1800 Pet meds require. They would not accept the scans I made of the prescriptions that were printed for me by the staff. I eventually gave up.

Everyone on the staff we came in contact with was fantastic. You can tell they truly care about you and your pet. They fit us in last minute TWICE! I mean I really can't say enough. When he met with us he took the time to explain everything and really made us comfortable with what his care plan was and was just overall a really nice guy. Emily was great too. The kicker was recently when in an emergency I called explaining the severity of my husbands emergency and injury, that he was about to have emergency brain surgery in Ft Worth, I was desperate. There was NOT even the courtesy of RETURNING the call to explain one way or the other--total silence. We were one of their first customers--would have been a life long customer until the mistreatment started. My husband died. I found refuge at Dapper Dog In Acton. WOW!!! I literally can't say enough about them. They jumped right in to assist. Then, before my husband passed away, I had to call to extend my pets stay and they were amazing! Told me not to worry about a thing--they would make room and take good care --just to let them know when to make my pet ready for pickup. When faced with the biggest loss in your life, NOT worrying about your kids is truly a life saver. Too bad Clover Pets doesn't see it that way.

Sheldon's passing was exactly what we wanted for him -- gentle and without suffering, and the in-home service made an unbearable day much more bearable. We are forever grateful.
