Eddie and Travis are extremely reachable and responsive whenever we have questions. They are extremely attentive to our needs and excellent in following up on any questions or action items from our conversations. Their use of tools also makes it very easy to exchange messages, save historical conversations, and schedule zoom meetings whenever I want to talk to them live. I also love their financial planning tool called Right Capital. I used several other tools in the past but this is the best one by far in terms of the granularity of the parameters that can be set up to calculate realistic retirement scenarios. One other big differentiator is they are a fixed fee advisor who can provide advise for the entirety of our asset. Our old advisors charged a percentage fee over the non-retirement investment accounts they managed, so their primary interest was to increase the balance in those accounts only, with little regards to our overall retirement goals or any tax consequences from their investment choice. Downshift always provides investment advice taking into account all factors, including short and long term tax implications before and after retirement. It's also an added bonus that you get both Eddie and Travis with different experience and skill sets (Eddie with extensive wealth management experience and Travis with real estate experience and also being an IRS tax Enrolled Agent). When I was interviewing different fixed fee advisors, most of them were one man shop and their availability was limited. In summary we are extremely happy to have found Downshift.
