Well I can't beleive I am the first to write a review on clarks shoe shop in Clarks village! I have…read morebought my daughters shoes in here on may occasions purely becauses they are so much cheaper than other Clarks shoe shops. You can easily get a pair of school shoes for £20 while proper clarks shoe shops charge about £30 for the same pair. If you go to Clarks Village to buy children's footwear, (school shoes) allow plenty of time! Get the feet measured choose the shoes and then get them fitted. Sounds simple maybe not Firstly, get the feet measured. If the child is small (baby or toddler) they ask for them to be sat down to be measured manually. To get an accurate measurement the child must be sat on the very edge of your lap or a seat with there legs dangling if they are not you will not get the right measurement. this is a good time to check how useful the person measuring the feet are if they take measurements without the legs dangling freely time to ask for someone else to measure as they don't know what they are doing. If the child's feet are bigger they get measured by the machine fold up the Childs trousers so you can see there legs are straight and pull there socks tight to get he feet measured. Make sure they are stood upright not leaning etc. The staff at Clarks village have always measure my daughters feet very accuratly and even checked the shoes don't rub.

I went through a lengthy complaint procedure with Clarks where as a "Outlet Store" buy they make you feel like a second class citizen. I was advised it would take time to deal my complaint because of the number of them they have which I think says it all. Finally I was told that because the shoes were from the adult section (he is too large for their childrens range) they were not designed for school use. Seriously? the soles wore through in 8 weeks ... how can that in anyway be considered good? They did offer me a £40 voucher for another pair of shoes but to be quite frank why would I want another pair of Clarks if they will only last 8 weeks? So while the shoes may look cheap it is because they are cheap. Avoid, Avoid Avoid!!

I thought a weekend driving round the Somerset countryside would be most relaxing. Little did I know that Clarks had decided to build a huge outlet park in the middle of nowhere!! Then to add insult to injury, they charge you to park in the car park!! To be fair, there is a huge range of shops here with anything from Adidas to Next to Waterford Wedgewood. The discounts ranged from very generous to none and like most outlet places, you have to search hard and be disciplined to find true bargains rather than just buying rubbish because it's cheap and never wearing it If you feel your fuel levels flagging, there are food outlets like Burger King around OK I confess I did buy some shoes from Timberland and had to be dragged out of Le Creuset before I did something my credit card would regret! For you men, if you want to avoid shopping in the Mendip Hills, don't go to Street!
