An amazing winery with breathtaking views. Such a relaxing spot with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their wine is really good as well. They don't have any food on their menu but they do have a food truck parked on their premises (not sure if it's there all the time!) so we enjoyed some snacks with our wine. Overall, I definitely recommend checking out with winery while in Palisade!

Honestly, of the three wineries we visited in the area, this one had our least favorite wines. They have more hybrids than "real" wine grapes, but the wines were totally fine. (Still better than most local Indiana wines!) But wine is about more than just what's in the glass; it's also about the experience that goes along with it. If I were in Grand Junction again and could only go back to one place, this would be it. It was just a perfect place to hang out and chat over a glass of wine. The owners are super friendly, and the whole place just has a very laid-back, comfortable, and welcoming vibe. They even have a couple of dogs hanging out. (I may have fallen a little bit in love with the big old hound dog!)

We enjoyed a Saturday afternoon drive amongst the vineyards. We dropped into Peachfork and were greeted by the owners. They shared their vineyard story. We each enjoyed a glass of wine inside their tasting room. Great ambience and we loved the sweet pups who greet you.

I took home a bottle of their peach wine, which is what I came for, since I'm all about Palisade peaches!

If you don't like floral then the ice cream might not be for you but if you are ok w eating floral flavors - the peach lavender ice cream was my favorite! They also offer a rich chocolate lavender one and a vanilla based lavender ice cream. Picked up some spray and essential oils too. Love this place when we come to Palisade and the farm is so serene and beautiful! Brings calmness within me when I visit. That's what you want on vacation right?

This lovely shop carries a variety of items - we bought lavender plants and some flavored balsamic vinegars and oils but they have many more items. The plants are thriving and we've been enjoying the vinegars and oil. Recently, I tried drizzling strawberry basil vinegar over half my mozzarella Caprese salad and tangerine over the other half. My guests loved the flavors. Today we decided to add more flavors to our pantry. The proprietresses were extremely helpful. We tried many flavors and flavor combinations and were given great ideas on which foods went best with them. We also found a spice blend that is flavorful and versatile. We more than doubled our existing vinegars and oils. Some will be gifts but the rest will enhance dishes from salads to desserts. If you find yourself near Palisade, Colorado, we recommend visiting this business. It has wide range of products in an attractive setting and knowledgeable staff.

High Country Orchards - Fresh from the Lavender garden

Beautiful location and the fruit is excellent. They have a unique sorting system that allows them…read moreto size and grade the peaches with minimal handling, which leads to fewer bruises. And it seems to enable them to move peaches from tree to market or shipping very quickly. (I went on a tour of their facility during Peach Fest). They also have a commercial kitchen where jams and preserves are made. There is a little farm store where you can buy peaches, (and sample peaches), preserves, peach-related souvenirs, some packaged cheeses, crackers, wine accoutrements, etc. And peach ice cream in the summer...in my case topped with some chopped fresh peach. Yum. It is hard to write about this without also mentioning that there is a very good winery on premises. Colteris Winery makes a very good pink wine (Coral) and some surprisingly good reds. The location has a beautiful lavender garden that you can walk through, outdoor sculptures, the peach orchards, the vineyards, a walk to a river overlook, covered seating and tasting room. A lovely place to picnic, drink in the peace and enjoy peaches and wine. Sounds like a perfect summer day to me.

My first amazing experience was with High Country Orchards' owner and staff. The staff is wonderful. They were so helpful with making special accommodations for me in very little notice. The staff was on the ball and knew how to play a background part in special moments. We had a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, and peaches all ready for my proposal. Now to the grub. I'm no wine expert in any shape or form. But I knew it tasted good. I usually don't like wine, but this was delicious. High Country keeps everything temperature-controlled up to pouring it in your glass. So, even though I'm not a connoisseur, I immediately trust that they know what they're doing. The peaches are delicious. Trust a slice of peach with a cracker and cheese. It's a tasty combination. Great people, great food, and a beautiful territory! There is an amazing look-out point that really captures the Grand Valley experience. There isn't anything like it. No picture can do it justice and certainly no words can paint the picture right. You just have to be there. I'm already excited to visit during different parts of the season to take in the view. As far as the price goes, I found it very reasonable. For a bottle of their wine, two keepsake glasses, cheese, crackers, peaches, and a couple of bottles of water it was in the $40 area. I've been to other places that can have very startling prices that can make you chuckle wondering what people think they're doing. But not this place. They know what's going on.
