I did court ordered mediation with Danielle that lasted the full 3 hours and it started off great…read more However my issue was that after 30 mins, Danielle began joining more with my coparent and sharing her own personal experiences which felt unprofessional and not supportive of her neutral role as a mediator. Several times I was interrupted by Danielle as she spoke for my coparent. As the father and only Black person in that virtual space, It was frustrating being dismissed when I was looking forward to mediation and possibly working out issues with my coparent. As an AMFT myself I was very disappointed in her skills to connect with all parties involved (my attorney also shared how she did things differently than her experience). Ultimately, she did her job and got us to come to an agreement. However, the journey to get there wasn't smooth. I really hope that others have better experiences than I have, and that Danielle because more mindful of her role as a mediator.
