It was very crowded but not so much as to make moving about difficult. I enjoyed samples of chorizo and tomato on sourdough and heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese! Went for tomatoes and peaches. Only one vendor was selling peaches! I may have been a little early in peach season. There were lots of vegetable vendors and lots and lots of flower vendors! A very good mix of different things meats, cheeses, baked goods, vegetables and plants and flowers. Be sure to bring your own bags to carry your purchases! I scored tomatoes, 6 peaches and a cantaloupe! I will def return later in the summer for more fresh peaches! Parking was hard but being my first time I didn't know they had free municipal parking a few blocks away!

Visited recently late on a Sunday ( maybe an hour before they closed) Great location with plenty of parking. Besides fresh produce, it also has fresh fish, a seafood restaurant, and a few other specialty shops. Open 7 days a week, I would go all the time if I lived in the area. But like most farmer's markets, "most" prices are no cheaper than your local grocery store, but the selecatiosn here are great. Espeially now in the Fall with tiomns of pumpkins & gourds, Saw stands with huige selections of plants & shrubs for home gardens & landscaping. Bought some fresh NC corn & honey. One stand had a HUGE selection of almost every pepper I ever heard off. Cant wait to go back. ( no pets!)

There were so many stands, including: produce, bread, juices, seafood, lamb, knife sharpening, honey, candles, pottery, flowers, and a ton more. I ate Pastels de Yuca at a stand called Soul Cocina. It was roasted yuca stuffed with lentils, brown rice, and spinach. It came with a very flavorful red salsa. I loved it. The yucav was tender and the filling was delicious. I loved the salsa because it was refreshing with a slight kick of spice. I also enjoyed sitting under a tree at the park while watching the Bee Day Parade. That's definitely my tip because there's not a lot is seating to eat at the market. So go across the street to Durham Central Park for plenty of shaded seating.

Still, if you're in the Southern Village area, you can't beat this on a Thursday night to grab some fresh veggies and delicious locally raised meats so that you can sleep in on Saturday when the big markets are open. Because of the Southern Village location and the strange hours, the crowds are going to be sparse enough that you can get some personal attention from the vendors even though there aren't very many of them. On a personal preference note, the Benjamin Winery in nearby Eli Whitney (it's just outside of Saxapahaw), will often - but not always - set up shop there as well. This is far and away my favorite NC wine, so it's worth a visit for that since even the places that can be counted on for good local product don't normally stock Benjamin in vast quantities.

I visited the farmers market on a gloomy Saturday and honestly had such a good time exploring all…read morethe vendors. Even with the cloudy weather, there was plenty going on and so many different things to choose from. There were independent vendors selling everything from coffee, lemonade, kettle corn, pork rinds, pastries, flowers, candles, mushrooms, handmade soaps, dairy products, meats, essential oils, and more. There were also plenty of seasonal items like mums, pumpkins, tomatoes, and lots of apples to choose from. I almost talked myself into buying some mums and some handpicked flowers, but I couldn't commit this time. There were just too many vendors to choose from! Of course, I did leave with a few things. I grabbed some tomatoes, coffee, and lemonade. I also stopped by Las Mas Empanadas and got three empanadas: spinach and cheese, onion and cheese, and caprese. I had a great conversation with the owner, who was super nice and welcoming. I also talked with the owner of Hook & Ladder and loved hearing his story. He was incredibly friendly and it was nice getting to know a little more about the person behind the business. Another vendor that caught my attention was Bonjour Y'all. I spoke with the baker behind the stall and found out that he actually studied under the owner of Breakfast in Paris here in Greensboro, which immediately made me want to try his pastries. I love Breakfast in Paris, so I was excited to give his treats a try. I picked up an apple pastry and a cinnamon roll, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying more from him. There are also several vendors that seem to have permanent or more permanent spots inside the covered/enclosed area. There's even an ice cream shop that also sells coffee, which is a fun bonus. The market is really easy to navigate, with parking on both sides, sidewalks, accessible bathrooms, and an ATM on site. It's handicap accessible and very wagon-friendly, so bringing a little one along is no problem. Most vendors accept both cash and cards. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly, and I really enjoyed being able to actually talk to the people behind the businesses and hear their stories. There's a great mix of food, produce, baked goods, flowers, handmade products, and local businesses. Overall, it's a great Saturday stop whether you're looking to grab breakfast or coffee, shop for fresh produce, pick up some seasonal items, discover local vendors, or just walk around and see what catches your eye. I definitely left with more than I planned to, and I'm already looking forward to going back and trying some of the vendors I didn't get to this time.

I had recently moved to Asheboro and soon realized there are no solid farmers markets here and in my research located RGSPTFM. When I took the turn into the grounds, I was quickly impressed. They have a section for flowers and plants, a section for outdoor decor and gardening supplies, a section for crafts and such, a FOOD TRUCK section, and of course 2 large areas for produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, fresh floral arrangements, local honey, fresh eggs and so much more. It's so much fun to head out on a Saturday morning and walk through all of the sections. Lots of friendly vendors selling their wares and lots of people watching if you are into that. I come for the meats, produce, and homemade baked goods and have yet to be disappointed. So bring your shopping bags, wear your comfortable shoes and head on over for a wholesome weekend experience I highly recommend!
