Last year we did this tour and it was awesome, so this year we brought some friends and did the tour again. IT WAS LAME!!! There was 6 in our group which would have been a good number, but then they added 4 more which made it too many. The boat was weighted down and couldn't make any speed at all, the driver was just blah. Last year the driver was very interactive. All in all I would never recommend it again. Definitely not worth the cost. Save your money and do something really fun. read more

We had a fabulous tour with Captain Butch. Lots of alligators, birds and other wildlife. The scenery in the backwoods of Florida is beautiful. Our 6 and 4 y/o boys loved cruising down the river. The airboat is a little loud but optional ear protection is provided. The best parts of the trip were stopping at a sandbank to look for fossils and then holding a baby alligator in the gift shop at the end of the tour. Went two days ago and were underwhelmed. The one hour tour was more like 45 min tops and it felt like we just went down the River turned around and then back. We saw two alligators (not their fault) but that was it. Kind of disappointing. Not much communication with the captain. read more

We booked a one hour private airboat tour for six. Three adults and three kids ages 11, 8, & 4. The total, not including tax and gratuity, was $440. The location was about a thirty minute drive from North Port. Check in was easy. The river was very clean and beautiful. We have never rode on an airboat like this before. It was a two stroke engine and VERY loud. Our tour guide Matt seemed to be somewhere else that day. In the pics he is sitting behind me and my Hubby, on his phone at times. Lol So after we check in we walk up to the boat and my 4 year old is already throwing a fit because of having to wear the lifejacket. It was thick and uncomfortable. I get it, he's 4 and so I try to redirect his attention. Matt never introduces himself he just points to the boat. So we hop on and he takes off before we can get my 4 year old's headsets on. He doesn't explain anything just zooms off! It's super loud and the wind was breathtaking. We couldn't catch our breath at first. It caught us all off guard as we were not expecting that. My 8 & 4 year old were crying and scared. So we had him stop so we can get a second to calm the kids down. Like WHY would you not warn us? I had to cover my 4 year old's ears because we couldn't get the headsets on him right plus he was fighting me. I just don't understand why he would not see that his ears are not covered and stop the boat or not take off until we were settled?? He stopped us only once to look at an alligator and turtle. Finally he turns around to stop at a beach. This helped because the kids finally calmed down and started to enjoy it a little. They were able to search for sharks teeth. Matt was more talkative then. I wished he stopped more to look at the gators. He claims the water was low so we had to go fast to get over the sandbars. Ok. I have been on airboat tours on the everglades that we did not need headsets and the boat was not so loud. This was different. Although the river was beautiful I don't think it was worth $440 for a private tour. There really wasn't anything special offered for the private tour that the regular tour didn't offer. I expected more to be honest and a better attention and experience having little kids with us. The regular tour zoomed past us looking like they were having a blast. Oh well. read more

I went yesterday on an airboat tour and swamp buggy ride and the air boat tour was amazing we saw so many crocs and the guide was the best. The swamp buggy was just okay, I thought it was gonna be going thru more of a mud thing and go faster. If I were to go again I probably wouldn't do the buggy but the air boat was great read more

Paid for a 1 hour airboat tour, and only got 30-35 minutes. Rode down the river about 15 when the captain parked the vessel on land and chatted us up for 25-30 minutes. He was nice, and this would have been cool if it wasn't so expensive, but we wanted to see more of the river's wildlife and vegetation! We can see why the ratings are so positive - it's a unique, very Florida experience. But nonetheless, it's overpriced. Don't know if this place has competitors, but one should check for other less expensive options. read more

I loved the airboat and the scenery is gorgeous. I recommend taking this tour but not with the operator Sam. He told several "jokes" that demeaned women and it was clear that he thought women were idiots. I will go on this tour again but if we are assigned Sam as our guide, I will ask for another guide or my money back. When the tour was over, 3 of the guys in our group came up to me to say how awful Sam was and apologized for this misogynous talk. Horrible guide, great river journey. read more

Took an airboat ride and Steve was our captain. He was extremely knowledgeable about the river, the wildlife and of the recent fossil finds. He truly seemed to enjoy what he did and we saw several alligators including the monster by the bridge. It was interesting that the sex of the alligators are determined by the temperature. Saw eagles and osprey. Next day two of us returned for a horseback ride and Staci was our guide. She did a wonderful job too and also seems to enjoy her job. Beautiful scenery! This past Friday we decided to take an airboat tour on the Peace River. It was a fabulous experience. First of all, you should know their business card has an address of 4192 SW Adventure Way. An adorable out of the way location perfect for a new exciting adventure. Prior to starting the tour we checked in at the office and had the opportunity to hold and play with baby alligators. (See the picture.) Colton was our guide and it was great to have someone so knowledgeable sharing his history and love of the alligators on the river. Speaking of alligators, they were all over the place. We only went a short distance down the river but seeing the them up close was an experience of a lifetime. You are welcome to bring your own libations but do not bring any illegal drugs. (They make you sign a waiver to that affect.) Yes, pot counts. Have fun this is a family owned and run business and they are sweet, kind, and funny. This was a blast! We took the airboat tour with captain Keith. He was fantastic! If you want to see a lot of gators, go during the winter. If you want to see more of the river area and love the outdoors (like me), go during the summer. The rain raises the river which means you can boat into areas you normally aren't able to. I live in FL so I see gators all the time. They also have an area where you can feed goats. My family loved this. Highly recommended. We will be back. read more

OMG! This was the best part of our vacation. We did both the Swamp buggy ride and the airboat tour. You can not go wrong with either. We did see more gators on the airboat tour but it was very interesting to take a tour of their property on the buggy ride. Eugene did out buggy tour and he was fantastic. He answered all of our nerdy questions. Captain Keith did our airboat tour and he was a wealth of information. We saw so many gators from juveniles and to adults. Again, every question we asked he knew all the answers and gave us a gator lesson and a history lesson about the area. Another plus, you can bring alcohol on your ride as well! We had an excellent airboat ride with Bret! No one in our group had ever been on one before and since it was a cooler day and we needed to entertain my 3 year old we thought we'd give it a try and we all loved it! My toddler thought all of the alligators, roosters and horses he saw upon entering were so exciting and talked about them for days after. The tour itself was fun! Bret was polite and informative. We just took our family (four adults and two grand children) for an airboat and swamp buggy ride with Peace River Charters. What an awesome time! Our airboat captain PK, was a great guy that new all about the local wild life and gave us a great ride. Our grand daughter got to ride up next to Captain PK and had the time of her life! Then we did the swamp buggy through some swampy areas and our grandson had a ball. Our driver Matt took good care of us and showed us a big ol gator. Just went for an Airboat ride with our family, we are all novices, so can't vouch for the experience from someone more experienced but we had an amazing time. The boats are small, 6 max, not the giant covered roof 30 person kind. The boat was very nice, and the river was very cool. Very Pre-historic feeling. Go early in the morning or later at night for max wildlife. We ended up going mid day but still saw many Gators. Our captain Kolton was a very friendly guy, and had some major talent driving the boat. The ride was a blast, wish I could give 6!! read more

Really great boat tour! All staff was friendly and welcoming. Capt trey was our capt, Capt Paul was was the capt for my mother and her husband. Both men were extremely knowledgeable and we shared quite a few laughs. They did manage to get us to see a few big gators despite the river being high. In February of 2016, my husband and I took a combined tour (airboat and swamp buggy) and really enjoyed ourselves. We have both boated a lot, and this was a different kind of boating adventure. Riding on an airboat is different from a regular boat and a TON of fun. I liked it when we went "off-river" and flew across land. We did the swamp buggy ride afterwards and while it wasn't as exciting, we enjoyed the experience. The folks were great, from taking reservations on the phone and greeting us in their cute shop (things to buy, many 'gator related!) and the guides were awesome. We did a last minute party of 6 airboat tour over Columbus Day weekend. We saw an ad in local Sarasota travel magazine and it looked fun. It was an hour drive from Sarasota to Arcadia. The hurricane had left some flooding to the area so the store was being gutted and the grounds showed signs of flooding but everyone was friendly and property showed minor signs of storm but being put back together. We were happy to support the local business with our tourist $. We had a fun hour ride on the airboat. We saw a few gators, a deer and beautiful birds. The river was still running high from the storms but clean and quiet. It was a relaxing tour. It was actually pretty cool temp wise when the airboat was moving. Our guide was informative and friendly. We would have stayed longer and done either the horseback riding or swamp buggy if the our little kids weren't tired out and hungry. It was a bit of a drive just to do one tour so I recommend doing at least 2. Fun airboat tour! read more
