Again the Doctor Doolittle in me comes to the fore, and as soon as I see that it's our four-legged friends who benefit from this store, I'm immediately sold.
Whilst the charity shops in town and up the West End have become hangouts for trustafarians and fashionistas, who think that spending £30 on a pair of holey old tights from World War 2 will fool the public into thinking they care about poor people, in the South Side the charity stores are that little bit more honest. Nothing too fashionable, books, toys and ornaments etc.
Sadly I didn't get to witness the gorilla with the pert, glistening buttocks on my visit as he must've been sold, but I did see a cute little porcelain dog that looked like it was constipated. A charming little shop, and all for a good cause. read more
