There are two Britannia Panoptican shops on this street. Number 45 is a darling little store selling bric-a-brac and general randomness and number 49 sells books and recycled and revamped furniture. Both stores operate in aid of the Britannia Music Hall Trust.
You can't really go to either of these are stores with a specific item in mind. You really need to go with an open and curious mind and be in the mood for a bit of a rummage as they are Aladdin's caves of haphazard goodies!
I have a little collection of cute mismatched teacups, a couple of which I have bought from the number 45 store for little more than pennies. I also bought an adorable little musical jewellery box for my niece which she loves.
As with all charity shops, the Britannia Panoptican stores can be a bit hit and miss. However next time you are in the area they are definitely worth a look in. You never know what you might find! read more
