With a lot of vintage minxes out there you can be sure to find something from your preferred decade - if not the real thing (some things are very pricey!) then the owners know their stuff to point you to something that will look the part for your budget. They are happy for you to browse and enquire about different pieces.

This is true one on one customer service, as the kind gentleman behind the till, Mr Graves of the name, will find you, without fail, a piece that you'll fall in love with. Their secret power is the fact they cater to all - they have really affordable items, from £8, to things that most of us couldn't afford in a long time, as their catalogue extends to items near £8000. Nevertheless, the quality of service to both the £8 customers and the £8K customers is just as good. Even if you're not after a purchase, it's worth a look to be overwhelmed by the beauty of the shop itself, and then the items they keep. With adverts placed in Vogue, Tatler, and Harper & Collins, they have some serious clients and are decidedly Cliftonian, but these are all good things in my opinion. Go search for those gems!

This is for me quite an interesting shop for a few reasons…read more I think one of the biggest things is the way the shop comes across. Having recently returned from South America I got quite involved with crystal healing - an alternative form of therapy. Out there crystals are often sold on street corners and in markets in a less than glamorous setting, where the focus is on the healing value of the stone. It is quite interesting therefore to see the stark juxtaposition of such a well kept and orderly shop in Bristol. One of a chain of 24 shops in the South West, this branch focuses on jewellery, fossils and crystals. Using sources from all over the world they tend to deal in only grade A stones - that is, to say, the finest. After a stage of crafting the final product ends up here. The thing I like about this shop is despite the high street demeanour the staff have kept a very holistic and down to earth approach to their work, recognising the different worlds of people involved with this market. From a regular buyers point of view there are a lot of very nice stones and fossils here at some very affordable prices and behind the counter, a wealth of information.

That way the have their stock back, and they also have your money. What a game!!! I purchased a couple of azurite bracelets for £40 tht I was going to restring as necklaces. But when I changed my mind and went back to the shop I was informed that they can only give a credit note. I even called their head office and was told they are a small business (with no less than 28 stores around the country) and they will not alter their policy. All I can do now is to put them on eBay and hope that someone will want them.
