It is set up like a typical antiques mall with items provided by different vendors, so you'll see some items priced higher than others based on who the vendor is, but I found the prices overall to be good. I stocked up on vintage glass decanters that were priced well below what I would normally see at similar stores in other cities, which was surprising given that resort town prices are often inflated. We met a vendor as we browsed, a friendly older gentlemen who asked about the items we were inspecting and told us where he sources most of his wares, and the lady who checked us out was also helpful and kind. Lots of records and toys, but you'll also find all the variety of items you expect in an antiques market. Finding the set of chicken decanters and the world's largest witch's broom were worth the trip even if I hadn't scored so many of the decanters I was searching for that day. We will definitely make this store part of our itinerary every time we return to Sugar Mountain.

One thing that really makes this place great is the owners and staff. These guys and gals have a real passion for music and are extremely knowledgable. This is rather refreshing because most corporate ran music stores have a staff that doesn't know Billie Holiday from Billy Idol. If you're looking to beef up your Vinyl collection, look no farther. They have the largest selection and best prices in Morristown. If you are reading this and have never heard anything on vinyl, I implore you to stop reading now, acquire a record player, then resume reading this review. Believe me, your ears will thank you once you have done so. Another great thing about Retro is you never know what you might find from day to day. There is always something different. They have a very large selection of used records and some new ones also. They also have CDs and other things, but I come for the records. The owner is very nice and can help you find whatever you are looking for. A couple of the records I purchased were skipping on my record player for some reason, but the owner made it right even though they seemed to play fine on his player. He gave me a record player mat that might help with skipping, dunno if it does or not, but none of the new records I got have skipped with the mat on! Cool place, cool owner, will be back!

If it's not in stock he will save your information and contact you when it arrives. As for the atmosphere of the store, it's well lighted and doesn't overwhelm you with the smell of burning incense. Matt keeps a nice selection of music from most genres playing while you browse. I'll be a regular there as it's the only record store in Johnson City that doesn't try to extort you on the prices and have you shopping in a dungeon with a few candles burning.

For price I will say this is the cheapest I have seen CDs of music go for as I remember seeing the Matrix soundtrack go for $10 which is close to what ebay offers and I understand why they charge such prices due to it being a local business compared to something like FYE that overcharges and is a big chain mall store. There were select blu rays on sale for $3.00 at the store though heads up they are used by the looks, however I will say that I got Seven for that price and got it way cheaper compared to Amazon that wanted $15.00 for blu ray and I will not get the Botique label release due to overfilling of filler items for someone that just wants to movie at an overcharged price so if you are in need to look for some used blu ray copies on the cheap I would reccomend going to this place as well as looking for Laserdisc, VHS, and dvds. The only thing that dissapointed me was the lack of video games there, however I believe that this didn't bother me as I expected as such for a record place. Also the owner is nice and I feel I would come here again. Overall this place deserves a 4/5 stars.
