The service is friendly and the chap who does the sweeping is happy to chat about your heating system, the state of your chimney and offer advice on a range of central heating related topics, very knowledgeable as he is. The only real gripe I have is the cost, £65 last time, although there is that piece of mind element and it also means the Mrs stops bothering me about getting the chimney swept before it goes on fire. Honestly, some people! Mean to say, they're very good at minimising mess, and compared to other sweeps we've had there's no mess at all good stuff!

After the chimney was swept and fixed the symptoms suddenly disappeared. I had been being poisoned by CO fumes from the range. So there is one more reason to hire an expert sweep - my health. I wish I'd got the chimney checked out by a qualified sweep before I used it after I moved here. This isn't a do-it-yourself job. They live up to their slogan of "Personal about Personnel" also. They really do have that personal touch, being smaller and more focused. In October they hosted a temps night out dinner, which was lovely to be a part of. I never had this experience from any other consultancy. The two ladies who work there are genuinely doing their best for you, and invest in you. They like you to text them as soon as you get out of an interview if you can for example, as they like to be informed and are always interested and on the ball. My own experience of Reiver is perhaps best exampled by me previously being on a career break as a stay at home parent. All the bigger Edinburgh Recruitment Consultants would not give me any time or touch me with a bargepole. Thankfully Reiver are more considered and tuned in and look at the bigger picture. So much so, that I now only exclusively deal with Reiver for temping, even though they are not my nearest local agency. They are always a pleasure to deal with. Communication is always good, they are very supportive. My first assignment for Reiver was not right for me (which happens on occasion) and I was struggling with it, and had to leave. They were still very understanding and still stuck with me and the next assignment was perfect all round. They are less cut throat, and more measured than the bigger City consultants tend to be. They also have very modern and efficient systems in place, the payroll is excellent, always on time, and payslips get emailed. I am usually a bit of a moaner and grumbler with recruitment consultants, and their is often much to pick away at. I honestly can't fault Reiver however, highly recommended.

As far as first experiences go I found the service offered competent, the fee structure and terms of payment were clear and well set out from the start. At times I did feel as though there was a lack of communication and we weren't always clear where the plans stood or the planning application as Mr Nisbet dealt with many of these issues in 'the background'. I'm not sure if I would necessarily use his services again, although I'm fairly sure I would get him to quote for further work I was looking to have done in the future.
