You meet with a counselor ONLY ONCE. If you continue working with them after your counseling session the rest of the communication is done over the phone where you will be connected to their main office in Ventura, CA and they will further assist you. Not all counselors have an extended background and are not all trained. I wish you a counselor who has good to excellent experience in credit, housing or whichever reason you go to meet them. Please help the counselor by: 1) Learning about the company before you show up to your session (There is no time for them to talk to you about the company). They are HUD certified and you can go to their website to learn more at www.surepath.org and the phone number to the main office is (877) 615-7873. 2) Please be there 5-10min. early and just wait in lobby until they call you. It is imperative to start on time and there is no time to waste. Please put your phones on silent. 3) Be prepared by having a THOROUGH list of your monthly and yearly expenses. It saves time and in turn they can help you more at the end of the session with any questions you may have. It also helps if you write down a list of questions you want to ask. *If you are going to talk about housing- PLEASE take your mortgage statements, County tax information, Home owners Insurance information and anything related to your housing. *if you are going to talk about your credit cards- PLEASE take your credit card statements. One free and fast session, be prepared... be prepared. Other information: Behind the building there is free two hour parking. Their office is inside the building on the second floor.
