My life has been complete ruined because I trusted a sleazy car salesman by the name of Ernie Wright!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! June 7th I went in with a check from my bank for 22k. I walked the lot looking for sticker prices. As I returned I was met by Ernie asking could help me. I'm certain he could see the frustration on my face and smell the desperation on me. We began a conversation of him asking what I needed in a vehicle. I told him I needed an SUV but the Cherokee was my dream and that I did not need a lender. Just a good car. Me, my daughter and my infant granddaughter sat there for 8 hours as he "worked" to get the deal done. When the sale was finally complete and I had keys in hand I wanted to connect my phone to the SUV before I pulled off. All of a sudden the touch panel was acting crazy. I went back into the dealership to tell him. He said it was no big deal and they would have someone look at it Monday. Over the next few weeks he dodged my calls and texts as I tried to see when they were going get the touch panel repaired. On June 30th the engine light came on. I text and called Ernie. His response to me was that the engine light could only be on because of the touch panel. Ernie gave me his word that the SUV was freshly serviced and there could be no engine issues that this was definitely a sensor/computer issue due to the touch panel. In addition to the engine light being on, the remote start and start/stop function stopped working. On July 1, I took it to get a small free diagnostic test to find out the engine had a misfire and the other issues "could" come from needing a new starter or alternator. When I went in to show Earnie the diagnostic he again said that these issues were from the touch panel and when they get it repaired if that did not correct the issue they would have their mechanic look at the engine. Within, the next week the SUV ran hot. Upon checking the coolant reservoir I found oil in the coolant, an indicator that a head gasket is blown. Upon reaching out to Earnie he was rude and insensitive to me and had no intention of honoring his promises of repairing or replacing. There are other details to this story but too much to text here. To me the worst part is he came to me on that first day representing himself as a man of God saying he was just sitting at his desk praying for a sale. As a woman of God I trusted him. He even shed some crocodile tears as we were signing all of the papers. They have done little to rectify this situation. This man saw me with my daughter and new grandbaby knowing I have a family to care for and he had no regard for our life. I am now stuck with a loan for 22k that I can not repay. I have no vehicle to drive because the repair estimate is over 7k. I am a Gig Worker so with no car I have no money. Earnie knew all of this as well. Due to this my family has been separated because of eviction. I am now homeless. Thank God someone took my daughter and her baby in. But I regret the day I ever considered doing business with these demons. DO NOT EVEN LOOK IN THE DIRECTION OF PAYLESS THEY WILL SELL YOU A LEMON AND THEN ACT AS IF YOU DONT EVEN EXIST. Excellent Service! The only reason I chose 4 instead of 5 stars is that the 5 star reviews seem to go directly into the "not recommended" category. Seriously Yelp!, what's up with that? They have 13 4&5 star reviews that are squished down into the not recommended category and only 3 negative 1 star reviews recommended. Something's not right with that so seriously everyone make sure to check out the collapsed reviews at the bottom that have fallen into the not recommended category. NOW ONTO MY REVIEW! My family has purchased more than 7 cars from Ty over the last 15 years. 2 or 3 for my Mom, 2 for my sister, a spare older car for emergencies (so we never had to get a rental while one of ours was being worked on etc.) and I just purchased my 3rd car from Ty, Jamie and Trey today. I couldn't be more pleased! I was in a difficult situation being upside down on my car I wanted to trade in, which I bought from Payless 3 years ago. I can't give away my secrets but these guys WORKED to find a solution for me. Jamie seriously went above and beyond and spent well over an hour going over the numbers to find a way for me to trade my car in and leave with a newer car but not pile on the negative equity I still had on my previous loan. When my dad and I went in to meet with them we were not optimistic about the situation, but Jamie said Ty told him to take care of us and "make something happen". Everyone certainly delivered on that as I drove away the very next day in my 2018 Dodge Journey leaving behind my poor beat up 2014 Equinox in parking lot. The Equinox served me well but when I worked as a home hospice nurse and then doing Covid nursing, I really racked up the miles on it and put some wear and tear on it. There was no way a large dealership was going to be able to do what the guys at Payless did. They wouldn't have taken the time or made the effort! Bout a 2018 chevy cruze from there and the vehicle had just came in and they promised us they had checked car out and would never give us car fax on vehicle. Had problems with car idling at 3 rpm on interstate and always low in oil kept taking it back and they kept saying rpm was high cuz of type if transmission and wouldnt put us in nothing else. Had the car less than year and motor blew left me on side of road at 11 at night. Turned back in to finance company and still owe alot of money on car we don't even have any more. They just want money and wont work with you. read more

We are originally from Philadelphia and went here to purchase a car to get my son back and forth to work. We didn't even have the car 2weeks before we started having problems with the car. Took the car back to them to look at it and was told there was nothing that they could do we were on our own. This place is shady as crap they sale trash cars. All there cars are trash and the sale ppl and slimy slim balls. I would get anything from them not even a can of soda even if it was free. If you know what I know steer clear of this place. I bought a car here on July 7th, 2019. I traded in a car that had been paid in full. In hand, I had everything that would be needed to purchase a vehicle (title, down payment, etc). The car I wanted had to have the speakers and radio replaced, the back up camera installed, and, in my opinion, needed tires. Apparently this car was purchased at auction. Fast forward almost a month: everything done except the backup camera (which is contractually obligated for them to do I might add). After a lot of excuses, lies, stalling...I still don't have my backup camera. They apparently are trying to find the cheapest route to take to have this fixed, because I keep getting "we are working on it or we are trying to get such and such to do it, but the price...etc etc. It's now going on 3 months since purchase. This is a horrible place. Hindsight being 20/20, I know I should have travelled the extra miles to a reputable car lot. I've heard more excuses as to why this hasn't been done than a child asked to clean their room! It's ridiculous! Save your time, hard earned money, and sanity!! Go somewhere that actually cares about excellence, reputation, and the customer. Payless Auto Sales on Two Notch Road simply cares about its bottom line....money! Do as you please, but remember...I told you so! Oh, and btw, a friend of mine that bought a car there, who didn't have any problems, referred me. Referrals that buy are paid $100. If I could give this place a zero star I would. They lied about us getting a loan for the car we wanted number of times, and ran our credit several time after they stated we had a loan. And we had the car in our possession. Lied to a bank on how much money we made a year as well as how much we put down. Had to go up there at least twice to fill out paperwork for purchasing the car. Finally after almost a month of being jerked around by the dealership about getting a loan we went out on our own and got a loan approval for the car. This place is very shady.
