SHADY BUSINESS & RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more I rented a car from this Avis location for a business trip through my employer's travel department. When I got to the counter, the workers were very kind and I gave a credit card for incidental charges. After I returned the card, my personal credit card was charged for the full amount of the rental instead of the company card. When I called to request a correction, the customer service person was extremely rude and told me that the only way I could fix it was to come in to the physical location with the physical company card (2,000 miles away from where I live). They refused to charge the card that the reservation was made with and the customer service person I talked to after escalating this issue said that it "sounded like I had a lot of issues to deal with."

We reserved a full-size sedan nearly a month in advance. When we arrived at the desk to pick up…read moreour car, we were told there was NO full-size sedans available. They offered to put us in a Toyota Tocoma but my husband declined due to the truck bed being open. The ladies at the service desk literally tried to pressure us into taking the Tocoma by stating that those were the only vehicles they had that could be rented there and returned in Pittsburgh. Somehow they "found" a camry and proceeded to fill out the paperwork. Once signed, keys in hand, and us physically walking to get the car and leave..... one of the counter representatives (that had JUST FILLED OUT THE PAPERWORK FOR/WITH US) cornered us at the rear door of the business (opening into the airport parking garage) and impolitely requested we return to the desk because that particular car had already been rented..... HOW can you rent a car to two different people???????????? WHO had the rental we had already reserved and paid for????????????????? LOW AND BEHOLD, they found a Dodge Charger which turned out to be slower than my grandson's tricycle!!! It was a 4 cylinder with ZERO get up & go! IT did get us from point A to point B just without any sense of speed!!! Prior to leaving, we were informed that we could drive through tolls and that the tolls would be added to our final total upon return........... NEVER ANY MENTION of the $20 "convenience fee" for using the toll-by-plate feature. ALSO, no mention of the excessive charge of the tolls that a new-comer to the state would never know about. I can't blame them for our not knowing of the tolls --- but for damn sure NOT mentioning the extra cost associated with using the "toll-by plate" convenience. Also NOT mentioned was the $22.50 CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE (WTF is this?) The Energy Recovery Fee of $12, the $11.11 concession recovery fee, the 2% passengar car rental fee of $4.77, the state surcharge of $2 per day and then the Pennsylvania passenger car rental tax. With all this being said............. I most DEFINITELY WILL NOT be renting from AVIS nor BUDGET again!!! There should be a full disclosure policy for any rental location to allow the customers to know exactly what they are being raped for!!!! Finding out AFTER the fact, in our case after we had returned home and checked credit card bills before paying them & found out about the tolls) is piss poor customer service. Having rude service representatives as the face of your business franchise is definitely going to speed up your business' failure , as well. There are plenty of other options to choose from and word of mouth spreads at rapid speeds!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTE FRAUDULENT BUSINESS! WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO PA LISCENCING AUTHORITY AND ATTORNEY…read moreGENERALS OFFICE FOR FRAUDULENT PRACTICES! I had selected a car online through cheapoair.com. When I arrived at the rental location, they immediately attempted to convince me that the arrangement I had was gouging me and they could get me a lower bill. Foolishly, I believed them and set up the rental with them. It was only a few weeks after I returned when I received an invoice for the rental that I realized how much I had been deceived. I had been charged for EVERY option available and now, the car rental was more expensive than my entire flight! On top of this, I had been charged a CLEANING FEE of $110, because I had apparently thrown up in the back seat, when the reality was, NO ONE HAD RIDDEN IN THE BACK SEAT AT ALL. I called in, of course, where I was told I had signed for all the insurance options, which I was certain I opted out of and that the cleaning fee wasn't through Avis, but through their parent company Barbush Rentals. I was referred to Laurie Shortell (717-948-2723) who, when I said that I could jot have caused that damage, was told I was a liar and that I did all of it. When I requested proof of the damage, I was sent a scan of a return slip with a time an hour and a half after my flight left and photos with my no date stamp. I brought this up to the employees at the location, who confirmed it seemed suspicious, and said they would look into it. Immediately, I put a stop pay on the $110 charge and assumed the issue was over. WRONG! I have now received notice that they are sticking by their original assessment and are going to turn me in to a collections agency, even though Wells Fargo sided with me on the dispute. It now looks as if I will have to pay these criminals what they demand. However, I hope they think the $110 is worth it, because what they earned is someone who us now dedicated to destroying their business. I am currently on hold with them for the last hour (shocking) just to inform them of this and am not going to be content with leaving a bad review. Behaviour as they have shown, not just to me but to EVERYONE it seems, cannot be tolerated. Until that time, DO NOT RENT AT ALL COSTS. USE AN UBER, IF YOU HAVE TO, BUT AVOID ANY RENTAL COMPANY RUN BY THE THEIVES AT BARBUSH RENTALS!
