My cat was spayed last year and recovered well. We were recommended the appropriate medication and products, as we are every time we need them. Good selection of food as well. I trust them with mine.

This boarding place is a great middle ground between having Cat sitters and boarding at a vet. Your Cat is boarded in rooms with many suites that opens into a hallway. You can pick suites with windows or even birdfeeders for extra cost. The price for additional Cats is significantly less than the initial Cat. All the Cat's needs are provided for such as water, litterbox cleaning, and daily free roaming into that hallway. I believe you need to supply your own food, I had to since my Cats are on prescription kibble. What sets this place apart from Cat sitters is that they can administer Cat medication, as one of mine needed eye drops. My 2 Cats stayed there for 1 week and the price was pretty reasonable. I can definitely tell my Cats didn't drink enough water as they wolfed it down when back home. Lastly this is only relevant during covid restrictions, but with contactless pickup, make sure your Cat isn't skittish af. One of my Cats has trauma when rescued so she fought for her life to not get put into her carrier by the employee. I would personally request to put that Cat into the carrier yourself, to avoid contributing to the place's smell and avoid needless bleeding. The employee working that day needs a raise or something...

We have dealt with this business for more than 12 years and they have looked after 5 of our cats,…read moreall adopted, and have generally done a good job although the fees are high and keep going higher. We have spent thousands of dollars at this business over the years. Our issue with Eastside started a few days ago when we took our current cat to get her nails trimmed, her first time in for that service. The work was done, the animal was returned to us and lady who did the work informed us that she had noticed on our file that this cat was not up to date with her rabies shot and because of that we would not be able to bring her back for future services until that had been updated. The fee for this shot is apparently over $200 with the tax as the vet has to "examine" her before a shot can be administered so that exam fee inflates the cost. We had this same cat in for treatment twice within the prior 6 weeks and this had never been mentioned and had not prevented her treatment so we asked why the change in policy. She advised us that "its the law". The City of Hamilton Ontario had passed a by-law some 6 years ago requiring rabies shots for all domestic pets, even indoor cats like ours. So we asked why this is now an issue given our recent history. The answer (from the front desk person on duty) was that they had only started enforcing that by-law about 2 1/2 months ago. But remember we had been there after that and nothing was said. So very upsetting and very poor customer service. I'm sure the information could have been delivered differently given our long history with this clinic. We will of course be looking for another clinic to look after our pet. My sense is that the people in charge will not really care about the loss of our business or our dissapointment with how it all ended. This is a very large corporation and individual complaints will not affect their bottom line.

Due to Petmax + courier delays and the product becoming unusable for its intended purpose after discovering health issues with my cat, I contacted Petmax before the delivery was completed. Petmax instructed me to refuse delivery to receive a full refund, but the courier entered my building unauthorized, left the package in a common area without my consent, and removed my ability to refuse it. When I tried to resolve the issue with Petmax, I was required to follow a return process I cannot complete due to my disability, yet I had to disclose it to request basic assistance and proper application of their policy. Despite this, I was offered store credit minus $17 shipping fees or a physically impossible return method. Petmax stated they work with several couriers and those couriers had limitations, which is why I was refused accessible return. Upon research, the information Petmax provided appeared inconsistent with published policies from their courier network and the available courier pickup options, that offer paperless return pickup services. Other customers are allowed returns and full refunds but I am excluded from it because I have a disability that makes certain acts physically not possible for me.
