In Spring of 2012 when I was about 8 1/2 million months pregnant, I bought a set of Groupons, one…read morefor a baby's first year package and one for a single group session. So over the past year, I've been to Clix SIX times and worked with FOUR photographers. Of my 6 visits, 4 were very good, 1 was fine, and 1 was phenomenal. The session that was just fine was my family session. The photographer put the five of us in three different poses. Two of them felt awkward, and one of them looked really bad when we saw the images. (old metal stools? Eh.) She didn't interact with my older children at all. In the end I was happy enough with the image we got, especially at the discounted groupon rate. The session that was amazing was my baby's one year shot. My baby was being a bit of a stinker and the photographer (Heather!) was great. She worked really hard and caught the very few smiles my baby was willing to give. Heather really knows her stuff! She did a great job picking a format and knowing which fonts and colors to suggest to make a great project, and asked good questions to figure out my style. The package included a set of thank you cards that I am very excited to share. I was a tiny bit worried that as a groupon user, I would be pressured to buy more. I am pleased to say I never felt like any of the photographers were trying to upsell me at all. For the first session I chose to get a slightly larger birth announcement than included in the package. I believe I paid $20 to do this. Twice I decided to buy the disks of the digital images from my baby's session. Three images on a disk cost about $100. There are A LOT of options, and I've found this to be often true of photo studios and photographers. I wish they could be more upfront about prices and make prices easily available, especially online. But that doesn't seem to be the standard in photography. I would definitely recommend Clix to anyone looking for a studio portrait experience. Of course good chemistry is important, but I can't recommend Heather enough for everyone!! I will absolutely try to make my next appt when she is working.

Very unhappy with their customer service. After explaining that I was not happy with their website…read moreordering process, I was contacted by someone from the company. She could have been having a bad day, but if that was the case, she should not call anybody for customer service purposes. She ended up threatening me (by saying she was going to complain to my group about me), argued with me, and told me I was the problem. When I explained that I was the customer, and she didn't need to get defensive with me and be so rude, she went on a rant again. I had to tell her I could not talk to her anymore, and I had to hang up. Needless to say, I did not get the resolution I wanted. I would not deal with them ever again. They need to give basic customer service training to their employees and management!
