My dogs have never been on an exam table at Evergreen -- Dr. Ulke and his staff sit on the floor with my pups, making them feel comfortable. That small detail says so much about their approach to care. Dr. Ulke has paid special attention to my dog's complex health needs. He has referred us to specialists when needed and stayed actively involved, communicating with those vets and following up on my dog's continued care. He and his staff even made arrangements to get my dog his medication in the difficult days after Hurricane Helene Both of my dogs have had surgeries at Evergreen, and each experience went smoothly, with wonderful recoveries. The care here feels personal. This is a team of people who truly care about your pets and the families who love them. We are so grateful to have them, and I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else.

Since we are in the COVID-19 pandemic I was…read morecertainly hesitant because I was not able to personally meet his veterinarian or go inside the office at all. The first visit was an ordinary check up and full work up with shots and bloodwork. The cat had never been to the vet before and needed everything done. I was very impressed by the care that our cat received. We received a personal phone call from the cat's vet telling us everything we needed to know including answers to some questions we had about some drooling. It turns out that our cat had an abscess on his tooth which now needs to be removed. That explains a lot! We have now scheduled the tooth removal. The second visit unfortunately was an emergency. We woke up one day and he had a deep gash or scrape in his neck. It turns out that he was allergic to his flea collar. Luckily the vet was able to fit him in immediately for an emergency visit. I was very happy about this. My fiancé took him in same day and they fixed him right up. I couldn't be happier with the excellent care and compassion he has received at this clinic. We look forward to more visits in the future. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly which doctor he sees.

Every office visit is calm and unhurried. I have never left with unanswered questions, but I know Dr. Sommerich would be in direct contact with us, if questions were to arise. Because Jason is a very anxious dog, we had reservations leaving him at the hospital for his neuter procedure. Dr. Sommerich arranged for him to be in surgery first thing in the morning, and called us personally, at 2:00 in the afternoon so that we could pick him up without his having to stay any longer than necessary. When Jason developed skin issues, he was thoroughly evaluated for all possible causes, and even our inexhaustible list of "could it possibly be this?" was given serious and thoughtful consideration in treating him. I'm certain our pet parent questions can be overwhelming, but Dr. Sommerich has always handled them with the utmost professional aplomb. Finding a great veterinarian is akin to finding a fantastic pediatrician - pets are our furry children. Dr. Sommerich and Mountain Animal Hospital is that golden find.

Seems like I'm not alone in encountering the arrogance and lack of empathy with the owner here, Dr. Kuhn. I recommend folks bring their pets here for care, but avoid having Dr.Kuhn being your vet. The staff is great and very caring. Dr Wilson specifically took great care of my dog when I urgently brought him in after getting attacked by a bear near the parkway. My follow up visits when Dr Wilson was off left me with Dr. Kuhn. He was short, abrupt, and seemed annoyed when I had questions to ask him. Annoyed that I would bring my dog in to him when I'm just following doctors orders. Once he was done speaking at me, he abruptly turned around and left the room, forcefully closing the door behind him. I was left in the room stunned and confused as to what just happened - did he really just speak to me and act that way?! The next follow up visit he didn't even bother to come out and speak with me at all. As a regular vet clinic, this place seems great. They are also AAHA certified! But maybe stay away for emergencies and definitely the owner.
