I absolutely loved it here! We were visiting from Kansas City where sadly our version of a place like this closed down. We didn't bring our dog on the drive but we wanted to check it out anyway. This place is better in every way. I love the amount of seating in the covered dog area, I loved the enclosed and monitor play space. I especially loved the 3 acre yard with all of the fun structures for dogs. The food and drinks were also great. We move it here. We go on average a minimum of 4 times a week. The employees are awesome, they know the dogs even better than the owners a lot of the time. Everything that is needed to come here is pretty clear on their website. Food taste great as well. When my dog had an issue by running to hard, they were there to help right away. Not only did they help but they called the next day to check on him and also got him a get well basket along with a signed card. What a fun place for dogs & owners! We went with our son & dog on a beautiful day! His dog immediately went to play! Lots of tennis balls & room to run! We ate outside & his dog climbed over the fence & so we leashed him to stay! Guys enjoyed their beers & chicken sandwiches. Fries were tasty, too! My dog Luna absolutely loves it here! We have an unlimited membership, and often come multiple times a week. The inside dog park is awesome when the weather is bad, and when it snows I can let her run in the snow while watching from inside the warmth. The restaurant has AMAZING food, especially the Mac and cheese. The bar has tons of options and really good deals, their house made "howlers" and Lotus energy drinks are super good. Luna loves their doggie menu. The store has a wide selection of items, with tons of great deals. Daycare, boarding, and grooming are amazing as well. Been here a couple times now. The first actually was for a Yelp event and had a good time. The second time I also got to bring my pup and although she is shy she had a really good time. We arrived on a morning where they were having a party so although we paid a little more than normal to get in we had just as much fun listening to the live music and enjoying the atmosphere. The first time I was here the dog yard was not yet done. Now it was fully open and ready to run. We took my dog out into the yard and it was even still warm enough for the splash pad. There was lots of sniffing and fun to be had. We decided to sit and enjoy the warm weather. The outside patio area is pretty small so the live music set up was plenty loud enough for everyone to hear. The waitress was kind and quickly to help us. We ordered off the breakfast menu and had way more food than expected. My eyes were defiantly bigger than my stomach. My girlfriend enjoyed the breakfast nachos that had scrambled eggs on top. Fried flour tortilla chips, cheese sauce, with salsa, chorizo gravy, scrambled eggs and chihuahua cheese. She let me try and few bites which were good. I had the Huevos Rancheros. They ask how you want your eggs but I had two sunny side eggs with chorizo over fried potatoes, peppers, onions and salsa. I had way more potatoes than eggs which was part of why i was stealing eggs from my girl friend. Over all the food was really good. Don't worry about your pet, you can purchase food for your doggo, but I had my own treats with me for her. We enjoyed a couple drinks and had a good time at the park. We would have staied all day to watch the bands but it was still early, and we had other plans. Our pay to get in would have let us back in but I lived too far away for a trip back otherwise I would have taken advantage. read more

Wow! This was the best dog park bar we have been to! The size and layout was perfect. There was so much space for the pups to run around. The building was already massive and very nice, but then you can go out past another gate and there is a huge grassy area with a path to walk along and so many more fun places for the pups to play. Very impressed. Highly recommend. The beer selection was great and when we went to the dining section after we were done playing, the food was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. 10/10. So happy this Paws & Pints Opened! It's a cute and fun place to take the pups! They have a huge playground for large and small dogs. Can't wait for the other half to open with bridges and more doggy fun areas! Best part is the humans can enjoys drinks, sports, and food in the restaurant area while the pups are playing! The restaurant is split with an indoor and outdoor seating area. Indoor you can't have the dogs in.But in the outdoor seating you can. Another great part is the doggy menu! So cute! Cookie loves her beef stew that had cooked ground beef, carrots and peas. The dog play areas are not only split between small and big dogs but, they have it split for indoor and outdoor so you never have to worry about your pups getting too hot. The play areas has Bark Guards that ensure your pups are safe and clean up after your pups. They also sanitize and clean the spot that was dirtied! Paws & Pints offers a wide choice of daycare times for you pup, Doggy Hotel, Grooming, Training, AND Pet Store! It's a one stop place! Highly recommend! Our first time at Paws and Pints and we didn't know what to really expect! Our pup, Daisy-May is a pretty timid, but friendly girl. She's a little over a year old, and she's been in our lives only since this past September, but we thought to try and get her out of her comfort zone and see if socialization could benefit her. She was definitely a bit timid at first, but as the night progressed she truly came into her own! We were so happily surprised!!! The service at Paws and Pints is also wonderful. We arrived and unfortunately had forgotten Daisy's immunization records, so we did have to drive back home and come all the way back to enter. We were so thankful the front desk rep was patient with us during this time. The attendants in Paws and Pints are also very attentive. Although it was our first time there, I thought it'd be best to have an extra eye on Daisy, but in the future, I feel like I could be laxer enough to let my dog roam without my extra supervision. The food was great too, a little pricey, but for bar food I was impressed. Overall, this place has a wonderful atmosphere. I love this place. We don't live too far away, and have a membership. We visit the dog park regularly and the staff is so attentive to not only any aggressiveness from dogs but also the messes dogs make. We have also used their boarding and daycare services. My pup is currently going to day school at Imperial Canine Obedience (also amazing) within paws and pints for training and goes to daycare during his off time. He gets SO excited every time we turn on to the street he can hardly contain himself. Living in a townhome it's so nice to be able to take him and let him run around. But it's even better knowing he's well cared for when we are away. Food is decent, drinks are amazing, the atmosphere is my favorite. Came here for a training event with Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa. The 4 dog trainers available were extremely knowledgeable and gave great tips for working with current or future foster dogs as well as our own! The facility was very clean and well kept, I was highly pleased with this considering the amount of dogs that wander through the building, inside and out. Yes, dogs got thru the double doors but none into the dining room. I'm sure it's happened before though. Ummmmm dude - it's dogs + humans drinking alcohol, dogs will occasionally get loose and customers may not notice. Don't like it, don't have dogs around drinking humans. It's a fact of business, specifically THIS establishment, and if you are actually SO OFFENDED by patrons spending their money here, get off your stool and use your girth to help the issue. Food was good last night, both burgers are great. Chicken wrap is my go to, and delish. Could use better ranch dressing but that's a personal reference. Honey curds weren't our fav, next time we'll order just plain. Glad we tried them though. Service was kind and attentive. We've been back a few times now and each time have had a fairly different experience. Of course, we still love the dog park area but I've started to notice some trends. The park ranger folks are either overwhelmed, overextended, or uninterested in some elements of park management which is a bummer ahead of them opening the larger park area this fall. In the turf area we've consistently seen water bowls totally empty in early evenings/late afternoons, dog pee not getting treated promptly or at all, and limited management of dog entry/exit to the patio area. Today: Previously bar/restaurant service was top notch, but on a moderately busy Saturday with half the tables full, our waitress just disappeared after dropping our food, never to return with the requested draft beer. We finally saw her and flagged her down 30+ minutes later for the check. Outside of service, the four I was with concluded the food is just so so and probably not a must do. We'll likely stick to drinks and perhaps apps/breakfast things in the future. read more

We recently moved to Des Moines from out-of-state (with a puppy!) and quickly found community at Paws and Pints. We immediately fell in love with the park's facility & staff - have met tons of great people & pups - and have grown to love Paws and Pints lodging and pet boutique, too! Our dog wasn't allowed to enter without meeting immunization/entry requirements- a clear reflection of the facility's concern for & commitment to both canine and human guests!! Even after providing entry requirements, I was a little nervous heading in to our first visit - the park is huge (and quite popular!) so we watched over our dog carefully to make sure he remained comfortable. We were so reassured by P&P 'grounds crew' (think trained doggy lifeguards) who routinely round and monitor the park as the dogs play. We booked P&P lodging for an out-of-town weekend and I can vouch the Mo'Tail staff are equally as customer-oriented. Our pup isn't quite old enough to get fixed, so couldn't yet enjoy P&P doggy daycare, but the lodging staff helped keep our dog entertained, nourished and comfortable while we were away. Through their mobile app we received photos, status updates, and even got to watch our pup on livestream camera as we were out of town. No other dog boarding service compares, IMO! Their pet boutique features a wide variety of dog food, treats and supplements including options for dogs with food sensitivities. We've been fortunate to find affordable items our pup can enjoy despite his food allergies. P&P members also receive a discount with every purchase at the boutique, added bonus! We haven't tried P&P dog training services but we've chatted with other dog owners at the dog park who've shared very positive feedback on training. Unrelated to our dog, the food here (human grub) is top-tier. Clean restaurant. Full bar. The appetizer menu alone is worth the visit. Looks like a great place! However, we called to see if we needed to bring vaccination proof to an event hosted there. Since we would just be on the patio, they said we did not need to register her. We drove from a couple hours away and when we arrived they said we did need proof. They need to communicate their rules better and their staff needs to be educated. read more

No where on their Facebook or website do they post what is required to bring your pet. You do need to immunization.record. No problem, we thought ahead and called our vet who emailed that. Your pet must be protected against kennel cough. We don't board our pet, we travel with him, clearly. So, after driving 35 minutes for a pet friendly restaurant we are now looking for another pet friendly restaurant. read more
